The Y720 has interiors and exteriors designed by Sinot Yacht Architecture and Design and they have created an elegant and eye-catching look. She is particularly distinguishable amongst superyachts by the huge amount of glass used.
The Y720 truly is a superyacht that offers exceptional views, having what Oceanco refer to as "an astonishing amount of glass". The three deckhouses on the main, bridge and upper decks each have expansive full-height glass windows and fuse a real sense of classical design with contemporary styling and technology.
Lateral is responsible for the naval architecture and has developed the advanced propulsion system onboard in conjunction with Oceanco. Many of her other details remain under wraps, including her name, anticipated delivery date and information about her interior design and accommodation.
The Y720 superyacht was the first hull received at Oceanco’s construction facilities in Zwijndrecht, which they acquired in May 2019.
All construction work took place there, including the installation of her superstructure, before she was transferred to the company’s headquarters 10km away in Alblasserdam to be outfitted last week.
Oceanco can now also welcome yachts of an even greater size after improvements to their outfitting facilities allow them to accommodate yachts up to 120m (393ft) in length. This is in addition to their drydock facilities that can house yachts up to 140m (459ft) in length.
This comes as Oceanco make some considerable additions to their fleet. As well as the 109m (357ft) Y720, it is also currently building the 117m (384ft) Y719 and a 125m (410ft) boat that will be the longest yacht ever built in the Netherlands when it is completed.
Some eco-friendly improvements have also been made as part of the renovation of the outfitting facilites, as Oceanco looks to become one of the world’s most sustainable yacht builders. Heat pumps that reduce the building’s gas consumption by 50 per cent and solar panels installed on the rooftop that deliver 250,000 kWh of energy a year are just two of the measures taken.
If you are looking to buy a custom yacht then, since its inception in 1987, Oceanco has built almost 30 custom superyachts up to 110m in length with more in the pipeline.
You can see how they match up against similar yachts by viewing all superyachts for sale.
