Contrary to earlier announcements that KISMET, built by Lürssen, was to be the largest yacht at the show, the true title belongs to RENAISSANCE, a 112m superyacht built by Freire Shipyard.
While KISMET is indeed longer at 122m, length alone is not the definitive measure of a yacht's size. Gross Tonnage (GT), which measures the overall internal volume, is a more accurate metric for assessing a yacht’s magnitude. RENAISSANCE, with an impressive gross tonnage of 7,200 GT, far surpasses KISMET in this regard, solidifying her status as the largest yacht ever to attend the Monaco Yacht Show.

Length Vs True Size
The confusion likely stems from the emphasis on length, but the YB100 list, which ranks yachts by GT, offers the most accurate reflection of their true scale. RENAISSANCE is not only the largest yacht in Freire’s history, but also the largest yacht ever built in Spain. Designed by Bannenberg & Rowell, this new superyacht accommodates up to 36 guests in 19 cabins spread across six decks. Built with an elegant blend of modern luxury and functional design, the motor yacht RENAISSANCE was designed for both private use and charter.
KISMET Longest Yacht Ever to Attend MYS
It’s also worth noting that while motor yacht KISMET holds the distinction of being the longest yacht at the 2024 show, she does not surpass AHPO, another Lürssen-built yacht, in terms of GT. Motor yacht AHPO, which attended the 2023 Monaco Yacht Show, also exceeds KISMET in size, highlighting the importance of using Gross Tonnage as a more precise measure.
The multi-award-winning KISMET was designed by Nuvolari Lenard and can accommodate up to 20 guests in 11 cabins spread across five decks. However, for commercial charter, she is limited to 12 guests due to maritime safety regulations.
