Italian shipyard Tankoa Yachts have announced the successful launch of their Tankoa S501 Hybrid at their Genoa facility. Preparing to undertake her sea trials, the 50 metre vessel is scheduled to make her worldwide debut at the Monaco Yacht Show in September 2019.

As the second hull of the S501 model, motor yacht S502 ELETTRA has many design similarities to the debut hull, motor yacht VERTIGE, however there are distinctive elements separating the two hulls.

Extensive collaborative efforts have been made alongside the new owner, which includes a top of the range touch and go helipad on the foredeck.

Boasting an impressive selection of four different modes, motor yacht S502 Elettra has the capability to offer premium performance while adapting the sailing experience. Powered by a pair of MTU 8V4000M54 (895 kW) plus two 300 kW electric motors, there's a feed from two 250 kW variable speed generators which enable the yacht to achieve some impressive performance results.

The four modes executed by the S501 Hybrid are DEM (Diesel-Electric), Hybrid, Traditional and Full Speed. The top speed possible for the yacht is achieved in the Full Speed mode, producing a speed of 18 knots.

Slower cruising speeds can be achieved in the other available modes, with the DEM mode being the most ecofriendly, offering an impressive range of 4,900 nautical miles while travelling at 10.5 knots.
