Wider and Nauta team-up for Moonflower 72 concept

Wider and Nauta combine for a highly anticipated 72m (236ft) steel and aluminium superyacht, under the project name Moonflower 72.

Set to feature the trademark Wider innovations and hybrid propulsion system, Moonflower 72 looks to have an effortless timeless appeal supported by the latest in marine technology.

Starting discussions in early 2021, Mario Pedol, co-founder of Nauta Design, and Marcello Maggi of W-FinSarl, owners of Wider's equity, initiated a vision to create a 70m+ superyacht that focused on 'onboard liveability and maximum connection with the marine environment'.

Exterior designs are reportedly honing in on seamless indoor/outdoor connectivity and the vast use of large windows to emphasize the feeling of space throughout and make Owners and their guests feel close to the environment even when enjoying the elaborate interiors.

With Wider we found just the right cocktail of technology and team organisation to make the project a reality.

In addition to the clean-cut lines and appearance of the superyacht, those looking to buy a Wider yacht will be entranced by the staggering Island feature at the stern.

Patented by Nauta Design, The Island is an expandable beach club with folding terraces, providing an additional fully functional entertaining space and an option to allow free roaming around the beach club to either side of the yacht.

Integrating this exceptional key highlight and multiple technological features designed to minimize environmental impact through the use of AI, the Moonflower 72 project looks like one to be reckoned with and is scheduled for a 2025 delivery.
