- On deck jacuzzi
- Transformer platform at stern
- Tender bay converts to outdoor cinema
- Modern design with plumb bow
Design & Construction
Designed around a fast displacement aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 29'10" beam and a 7'1" draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 499 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in late 2018 with the keel laid under the project name 'Altea'. Launched in February 2021 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in July 2021.
Exterior Design
The vessel's striking appearance is accentuated by its chic plumb bow, which imparts a modern edge while contributing to the yacht's seakeeping abilities. Her silhouette is characterized by lightness, achieved through expansive sections of glass that envelop her structure, allowing natural light to flood the interior spaces and providing uninterrupted panoramic views of the surrounding seascape.
Ela's exterior is similar to her predecessors within Heesen's 50-meter aluminium FDHF (fast displacement hull form) series. The consistent design theme across this series is a blend of fashion-forward styling and a general arrangement that has garnered widespread acclaim from discerning yachtsmen. The hull design not only presents a visually arresting profile but is also engineered for efficiency, enabling graceful and swift voyages across the waves.
The yacht's sun deck offers an array of bespoke features tailored to enhance the al fresco experience. Custom stainless-steel tables, seamlessly crafted to rise and combine, create an additional outdoor dining zone that is both functional and stylish.
One of the most innovative aspects of Ela's design is the Transformer platform located at the stern. This feature offers multiple configurations for myriad activities. From a lofty diving platform to an intimate, sea-level lounging area, the Transformer platform adapts to the desires of those on board, enhancing the yacht's connection to the water and elevating the guest experience to new heights.
Interior Design
The yacht’s aesthetic balances simplicity with richness, as evidenced by the abundant use of warm Canaletto walnut, juxtaposed with darker, tinted walnut accents. Gatto's design philosophy ensures that the yacht's interior does not compete with the oceanic vistas but complements them.
Unique furniture and finishes feature heavily inside Ela, including a chaise longue from Promemoria and bespoke pieces enveloped in luxurious Loro Piana fabrics. Specially designed tables, featuring a crackle lacquer finish and innovative lighting, transform the atmospheric tones of the interior with a touch of a remote control, cycling through a spectrum of colors within the translucent onyx.
The attention to detail extends to tactile surfaces, where cool lacquered panels have been softened with leather and Majilite’s Novasuede, bringing a tactile warmth to the setting. The synergy of materials - stones, leathers, and fine woods - creates a sanctuary that is stylish yet understated, with embossed leather wall features and lavish travertine in the bathrooms and sauna enhancing the sense of luxury.
Accommodation
Ela hosts up to twelve guests in six beautifully appointed cabins, ensuring privacy and tranquility for each individual on board. The masterful layout includes a full-beam owner’s suite, a VIP cabin, two double cabins, and two twin cabins, each crafted to provide an oasis of luxury. The addition of Pullman berths in the twin cabins thoughtfully increases guest accommodation to fourteen, allowing for flexibility in hosting larger parties without compromising on space or comfort.
The owner's suite, a sanctuary of sophistication, is situated on the main deck and features full-height panoramic windows that invite the outside seascape into the private quarters. One can expect nothing less than the finest appointments here, with plush furnishings, a serene color palette, and an ambiance that reflects both the opulence of the yacht and the beauty of the ocean.
Descend to the lower deck, and you will find the full-beam VIP stateroom, offering guests an expansive and serene retreat. The adjacent twin and double cabins mirror each other in design, providing a harmonious balance and an equally luxurious stay for guests. Attention to detail is evident in every aspect, from the rich textures to the exquisite finishes, ensuring a restful night's sleep after a day of ocean adventure.
Each cabin aboard Ela uses materials such as Canaletto walnut, dark-tinted walnut, and soft Novasuede.
Ela's commitment to excellence extends to the crew quarters, where functionality and comfort are paramount. The accommodation for the crew of nine ensures that those who work tirelessly behind the scenes to deliver the flawless Ela experience have their own space to relax and recharge, in preparation to provide the highest level of service.
Performance & Capabilities
Ela's mechanical prowess is anchored by twin MTU 2000 series M72 V12 engines. These engines enable Ela to cut through the water with a formidable top speed of 19.5 knots, an impressive feat for a yacht of her size and stature.
The yacht's light aluminum construction synergizes with the Van Oossanen's fast-displacement hull design. This advanced hull form reduces resistance through the water, enhancing speed and fuel economy, thereby providing Ela with class-leading fuel efficiency that is both environmentally conscious and cost-effective for her owners.
Navigational freedom is a vital aspect of any yacht's appeal, and Ela's 2.1-meter draft is a remarkable feature that grants her access to shallower waters, opening up a wider variety of cruising destinations. This shallow draft makes Ela an ideal choice for adventures in coastal areas and island-hopping in the Bahamas, where deeper draft vessels might be restricted.
Ela is equipped with a flexible tender bay located forward on deck, which Captain Nicolas Ruiz praises for its versatility. This innovative space can accommodate various water toys and tender types, depending on the recreational needs of the owners and their guests. This adaptability extends to the tender bay's transformation into an outdoor cinema, adding another layer of luxury and entertainment.
Stability is paramount when it comes to the comfort onboard a luxury yacht, and Ela is no exception. This includes both at-anchor and underway stabilizers, ensuring that guests experience minimal discomfort from rolling motions both at sea and while stationary.
Amenities
Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort. Ela also features deck jacuzzi which provides excellent views.
