Heesen unveils 50m superyacht 'Project Altea'

Dutch shipyard Heesen Yachts has unveiled its all-aluminium 50m superyacht 'Project Altea' scheduled to be delivered in May 2021.

Project Altea is the second vessel from Hessen's 5000 Aluminium FDHF class, following the launch of sister ship HOME in 2017.

Boasting propulsion from twin MTU 12V 2000 engines, providing 3,000HP, a maximum speed of 19.5 knots is promised. This is alongside a potential range of 3,750 nautical miles while cruising at 12 knots.

Extensive collaborative design input has influenced the initial drawings of 'Project Altea', with exteriors created by the in-house Heesen Yachts team and long-term collaborator Omega Architects.

Naval architecture has been penned by Van Oossanen Naval Architects and the interiors have been designed in collaboration with Italian studio Cristiano Gatto Design. More details will be unveiled in due course.

Heesen has so far confirmed a six-cabin layout for up to 12 guests, in addition to a further five cabins for nine crew on board.

More details will be made available soon.
