Project Orion's design blends the talents of Omega Architects and Cristiano Gatto. Her exterior, crafted by Frank Laupman, showcases a near-vertical bow and expansive windows, enhancing both aesthetics and performance.
Inside, Cristiano Gatto's interior design invites natural light and ocean views, featuring six staterooms, including a master suite on the main deck and a full-beam VIP cabin. Throughout the yacht, over 35 types of high-gloss woods, woven leather, marbles, and custom carpets create a modern yet inviting aesthetic, with contrasting colors and shapes enhancing its sophisticated style.
Key highlights include a 26-square-metre wellness area, complete with a sauna, gymnasium, day head with shower stall, and direct access to the fixed swim platform.
The expansive 77-square-metre sundeck is thoughtfully designed with sunpads and a forward-positioned whirlpool for guest privacy while docked stern-to in a marina. Versatility is prioritized—removing loungers transforms the space into a vibrant party area, featuring a wet bar, dining table under the hard top, and relaxation zones both fore and aft.

Ruud van der Stroom, Heesen’s Chief Commercial Officer, stated, “Project Orion presents a rare opportunity for discerning clients to acquire a superyacht that embodies the unrivalled safety and solidity of Dutch craftsmanship, ready to cruise by Spring. To have immediate access to such exceptional quality – engineered for both style and security – is truly extraordinary. By summer, Project Orion will be poised to navigate the oceans, setting a new standard for luxury.”
As the 5th hull of the highly sucessful Heesen 50-metre FDHF aluminium series, Project Orion features hybrid propulsion. Twin MTU 12V 2000 M61 engines power her, each producing 600kW, achieving a top speed of 16.3 knots. At 12 knots, she uses 98 litres of fuel per hour, while hybrid mode reduces consumption to 45 litres per hour at 10 knots.
This latest addition builds on the success of her four exceptional predecessors: Hull 1 was motor yacht Home, delivered in 2017 and a trailblazer in eco-conscious luxury yachting; Toute Sweet, launched in 2019 and celebrated for its spacious layout and sleek design; Danica (launched as Amare) was finished in 2020 as a model of contemporary elegance; and Ela, completed in 2021 with exquisite detailing and advanced technology. Each yacht in the series has pushed the boundaries of modern yacht building, featuring Heesen's signature Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) for improved efficiency and performance. Project Orion promises to continue this legacy, blending luxury, innovation, and engineering excellence
From a technical standpoint, the yacht features a shallow 2.1-metre draught, making it perfect for exploring destinations like the Bahamas, and a sub-500 GT enclosed volume, contributing to reduced operational costs. With a light load weight of 295 tons, Project Orion is designed for exceptional fuel efficiency and smooth, seaworthy performance. In the coming months, all systems will undergo meticulous commissioning, with comprehensive sea trials in the North Sea scheduled for mid-February.
Project Orion is currently for Sale asking €45,900,000 and due for delivery in spring 2025
