Key Features
- Go-anywhere seafaring capabilities
- Enormous fold-out beach club
- Aft deck infinity pool
- Fully certified helipad
Design & Construction
With a displacement steel hull and aluminium superstructure, she has a 17.5m (57ft) beam and a 4.5m (14.7ft) draft. The yacht spans 5 decks and has an internal volume of 6,500GT (Gross Tonnes), placing her among the world's largest yachts.
Measuring 110m (360ft) in length, she will take Rank 49 in the Top 100 by length. Icecap will also be ranked 32 in YachtBuyer’s YB100, which uses gross tonnage as the ranking factor. Thanks to her high internal volume, this means Icecap will be 17 places higher in the YB100 than in the traditional Top 100 by length.
Exterior Design
The exterior design of the yacht Icecap is informed by its use - exploration. The hull is painted a subtle light brown and incorporates an inverted-bow design, commonly known as the X Bow, with a forward-leaning superstructure. These design choices are often seen in commercial vessels and the X-Bow is known for its ability to slice through waves, reducing sound and vibration, and improving fuel efficiency in rough seas. This makes Icecap well-suited for long-range cruising.
The exterior also includes functional elements such as sizable tender stowage on deck, which supports exploration activities. A prominent feature is the elevated, certified helipad, positioned forward of a pool, which enhances accessibility and convenience for guests.
The majority of the decks are enclosed or shaded, indicating a design intention to accommodate various climates, whether cooler or warmer. Nonetheless, several outdoor lounges and observation areas are thoughtfully placed throughout the decks, allowing guests to enjoy open-air experiences while cruising.
Accommodation
Icecap offers accommodation for up to 20 guests in 10 suites comprising an owners cabin and 4 VIP cabins. She is also capable of carrying up to 30 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by 3 x diesel-electric Wartsila (9L20) 9-cylinder 2,692hp engines, motor yacht Icecap is capable of reaching a top speed of 24 knots. She has been fitted with stabilizers to increase on-board comfort when the yacht is at anchor, particularly in rough waters.
Amenities
Rest and relaxation can be achieved on board, thanks to a luxury spa and massage room. Adjoining the water, a beach club lets those on board enjoy the feeling of being close to the sea and luxury yacht Icecap plays host to a complete dancefloor. The yacht features a tender garage with storage for a range of toys and accessories. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort, while underwater lights create a dazzling light display when the sun goes down and an elevator makes the yacht fully-accessible. Icecap also features deck jacuzzi which provides excellent views.
