Design & Construction
Designed around a full displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 9.6m beam and a 3.2m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 822 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in mid 1995. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards.
Exterior Design
The exterior of Sea Huntress highlights Terence Disdale's renowned design expertise. Following a comprehensive refit in 2022, the yacht maintains its original design integrity while presenting a refreshed aesthetic. The exterior has undergone a complete overhaul and repaint, featuring extensive areas of new teak decking that complement the yacht's functional elegance. The inclusion of a touch-and-go helipad on the sun deck aft provides convenience and accessibility for guests.
Despite the inclusion of the helipad, the sun deck aft retains a relaxation area with free-standing sun loungers and a stylish curved corner bar shaded by a fixed canopy. The forward section of the sundeck offers an elevated jacuzzi, integrated sun pads, a shower, and a day head, along with circular seating, a table, and refrigerated storage for drinks and refreshments.
Al fresco dining is available on the upper deck aft, with steamer-style dining chairs surrounding a highly polished oval wooden table on a teak deck. Integrated semi-circular seating on either side adds to the ambiance. Wooden accents within the doorway of the upper deck salon complement the white superstructure, supported by two slim metal columns. Staircases on either side provide access to the main deck aft, with curved bench seating and picket lounge chairs, leading to twin sweeping staircases down to an enclosed bathing platform protected by high coaming. A smart red bootstrap provides contrast at the water line.
Sea Huntress features abundant glazing throughout her side profile, primarily square-shaped, with a bank of six oval-shaped portholes forward along the main deck. The hull is adorned with ample portholes below a prominent strake that extends from the transom along almost the entire side profile. The foredeck with a prominent light mast, provides tender and personal watercraft storage. A fixed ladder is centralized from the foredeck area, across all deck levels to provide access for crew operational duty.
Interior Design
The main deck salon serves as a focal point of Sea Huntress's communal spaces, boasting generous proportions and large windows that bathe the area in natural light. The flooring is adorned with fine hardwood, offering a sturdy yet elegant foundation that complements the soft furnishings. A palette of soft stone greys and ivory creates a serene atmosphere, enhanced by a massive ceiling panel featuring a linear pattern.
Forward of the main salon area, the dining area is delineated by cabinetry, creating a distinct boundary between the salon and dining spaces. A striking circular stone dining table takes center stage, surrounded by Marta Sala Éditions leather dining chairs in ecru providing seating for eight guests.
The upper deck salon extends the soft grey and cream color scheme from the main salon, ensuring a cohesive style throughout the yacht. Vibrancy is introduced through pops of rich turquoise and deep pink, while large pieces of modern artwork adorn the wall spaces, adding visual interest. The ceiling is adorned with light wood, enhancing the airy ambiance of the space.
Moving to the owner's cabin, the window surrounds feature light wood, complemented by darker wood cabinetry with subtle Art Deco influences. The private office exudes sophistication with a sky-blue leather chair and a walnut desk adorned with a leather top inlay, combining comfort and elegance. Each cabin has been designed with a feature color and bathrooms feature marble and wood for a luxurious aesthetic.
Accommodation
Sea Huntress offers accommodation for up to 14 guests across six en-suite cabins.
At the center of the guest quarters lies the expansive owner's stateroom, featuring an en-suite observation lounge and office with a daybed. The panoramic views forward from this area are particularly noteworthy.
Aft, four generously sized cabins provide comfortable lodging, while a smaller fifth twin cabin located forward offers versatility. This adaptable space can serve as accommodations for children or staff, with the option to transform into a gym, catering to the needs of those on board.
Sea Huntress also accommodates a crew of up to 14 members.
