Dubbed as the world's largest and fastest vessel made of aluminium, the record-breaking Project COSMOS has been in production at the Heesen facility for the past year.
On schedule for a spring 2022 delivery, Project COSMOS offers some new firsts for the Dutch brand which are already getting the yachting industry talking.
Operating in very much the same way as an I-girder, patented ‘backbone technology’ has been incorporated into the superyacht. With all the structural support being provided by the exclusive innovation, the hull and superstructure feature the same solid foundation as many other superyachts, but with less weight.
Consequently, this will allow the vessel to achieve faster top speeds than other superyachts of her size and other vessels in the Heesen Aluminium range.
Different from a vast amount of other vessels in the Dutch fleet, COSMOS has a total of four MTU engines which total 19,000 HP, compared to the usual configuration of two engines.
This increased amount of power allows her to reach a cruising speed of 20 knots, plus an impressive top speed of almost 30 knots – double the speed of most superyachts in the same size range.
In addition to her statistics standing out on the page, Project COSMOS will also be a sight to be seen in any marina thanks to her exterior design by Winch Design. The collaboration of black, grey and white tones create an effortless flow of attractive chic lines sure to turn heads.
Initial impressions when coming on board COSMOS are exceptional, thanks to the inviting beach club. Featuring dual sea terraces and a spacious swim platform with fully equipped bar, the stunning beach club boasts enticing illumination which filters through the glass-bottomed swimming pool on the deck above. Combine this with the private limousine tenders which are stored and launched from underneath the foredeck, the guests on board will never want for anything around the idyllic exteriors.
When guests are not exploring the new surroundings with the limousine tender or exclusive touch and go helipad facility, the inviting interiors by Sinot Exclusive Yacht Design will provide an indulgent experience.
With the decks connected by a floral-inspired central staircase, the interior design boasts contrasts of monochrome tones with golden inserts to create depth and focus. Specially curated artwork are located throughout alongside top-of-the-range audio and media technologies.
Overnight accommodation features the same high level of sophisticated interior finish and can accommodate up to 12 guests within a six en-suite cabin layout.
