Lürssen’s 125m superyacht Project JAG undergoes technical launch

The superyacht is rumored to be a replacement for 95m (312ft) KISMET and is expected to be delivered to her Owner in 2023.

Lürssen’s latest 100m+ superyacht, 125m (410ft) superyacht Project JAG has been caught on camera hitting the water for her technical launch at the shipyard earlier today.

Initially known as ‘Project Gaja’ when she was announced in 2019, the luxury motor yacht is rumored to be a replacement for 95m (312ft) motor yacht KISMET, also a Lürssen build.

The two yachts have many similarities. Like superyacht KISMET, Project JAG features interiors from Reymond Langton, and whilst the new yacht’s sleek and dynamic exteriors come from the pen of Nuvolari Lenard (as opposed to the Espen Oeinio designed superyacht KISMET), she also features an extended bow sprite, which we believe will include the Owner's trademark jaguar.

With much of the build shrouded in secrecy, details are scarce of this luxury yacht, but we expect her standout features to include a certified helipad, an extensive wellness center, an indoor theatre and alfresco cinema set-up, a fully equipped gymnasium and a collection of the latest water toys from seabobs to a submarine.

This follows closely in the wake of YachtBuyer bringing you exclusive images of Lürssen’s 115m ‘Project Enzo’ as she prepared for her launch.

World's Largest Yachts

Project Jag is one of 11 yachts currently in the order book for the German yard, with eight of them being over 100 meters in size. Upon her expected delivery in 2023, she will add to the collection of Lürssen yachts on the water that are 100m plus - a figure that currently stands at 20.

Significant differences arise between Project Jag and the owner's first yacht KISMET in terms of both overall length and Gross Tonnage. In fact, Project Jag is set to offer 65% more usable space than Kismet. YachtBuyer has introduced the YachtBuyer YB100 as a more effective way to rank the world’s largest yachts. While the owner's current yacht KISMET holds a respectable spot in the Top 100, she falls short of making the cut for the YB100 due to her size.
