115m Lurssen AHPO Headlines Monaco Yacht Show as the Largest Yacht in 12 Years

The Monaco Yacht Show has always showcased the industry's largest yachts, but 2022 sets a new record in length.

Port Hercule has witnessed some phenomenal global debuts and appearances over the years and this year the stunning 115.1m (378ft) AHPO will be the star of the show. Lurssen yacht AHPO sits comfortably in the Top 100 of the world's largest yachts

The stunning AHPO will make show history in a few weeks' time as the largest yacht to be displayed at the Monaco event in over a decade. Showcasing impeccable craftsmanship and detailing, this 4850GT vessel is certainly worthy of taking center stage. 

Crowds have come to expect nothing but showstoppers and it's fair to say that for a small principality, Monaco really delivers each and every time.

As the 2022 Monaco Yacht Show approaches, YachtBuyer has reminisced years gone by and revisited the captivating biggest in-show superyachts for the last 12 editions.

2022 - AHPO

Megayacht AHPO is the biggest star of the show for the 2022 Monaco Yacht Show, measuring up at 115.1m (377.6ft) and is the largest superyacht to be showcased in Monaco in 12 years.

Built by German shipyard Lurssen, she was previously known under the project name 'Enzo' when her keel was laid and was then delivered to her Owner in June 2021.

Boasting a steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she is very easy on the eye and with five decks, she certainly knows how to entertain her 16 guests. 

Health and wellness are a primary focus on board with a fully equipped beauty salon and gym, plus a spa and sauna for extra indulgent treatments.

Exterior living is undeniably a key feature with multiple alfresco dining options, a spacious beach club, swim platform, sun pads and an on-deck Jacuzzi.

As the biggest yacht within the last 12 years to be showcased at Port Hercule, viewing AHPO is definitely a must at this year's event.

2021 - IJE

One of the finest yachts to emerge from the Italian yards of Benetti, 108m (354.3ft) IJE made a huge statement at the 2021 Monaco Yacht Show, following a near two-year gap from the previous edition due to the global pandemic.

As a custom yacht from the drawing boards of Benetti, and RWD for her exterior designs, IJE is a truly exceptional megayacht with so many facilities packed into her four decks.

With a fully kitted out private cinema, observation deck, exclusive nightclub complete with DJ station, a beauty salon and a large swimming pool just for starters, there are a lot of reasons why IJE drew in the crowds at the 2021 event.

2019 - TIS (ALAIYA)

A Lurssen yacht that will absolutely leave you stock still and gaping in awe, TIS, or ALAIYA as she's now known, is a jaw-dropper with perhaps one of the most palatial interiors you will ever see.

Boasting interior and exterior styling from the drawing boards of Winch Design, this spectacular six-deck megayacht accommodates 18 guests in nine lavish suites that closely resemble the aesthetics and functionality of a premium six-star hotel.

2018 - KISMET

Earning the biggest in show for the 2018 Monaco Yacht Show, KISMET features design inputs from Reymond Langton Design on the interiors and exteriors by Espen Oeino. 

Winner of the Displacement Motor Yachts of 1,300GT to 2,999GT – 75m and above category at the World Superyacht Awards 2015, KISMET comprises of four decks with an impressive collection of amenities to whet the appetite of all 16 guests onboard.

Launched in 2014, key highlights onboard the Lurssen superyacht include the spacious sun deck featuring a swimming pool with an integrated Jacuzzi, expansive spa facilities complete with a plunge pool and Hammam, a multifunctional cinema room that can also be a reading room or an additional salon plus a captivating winter garden deck.

2017 - JUBILEE (KAOS)

A multi-award winner in her own right, 110.1m (361.2ft) megayacht KAOS was delivered to her owners in 2017 by Dutch shipyard Oceanco but was known as JUBILEE at the time of the 2017 Monaco Yacht Show.

Capable of accommodating an impressive 31 guests in 15 luxurious suites, the five decks of KAOS are filled to the brim with indulgent amenities such as a 35sqm folding transom door concealing a stunning beach club, an easy access helipad and a swimming pool situated directly above an aquarium for a completely unique onboard swim. 

Powered by twin diesel MTU (20V 4000 M73L) 20-cylinder 4,828hp engines, KAOS also features a spacious tender garage suitable for holding not only tenders, but a Bentley too.

2016 / 2012 - ATHENA

The main attraction at not one but two shows over the last 12 years, the timeless sailing yacht ATHENA from Royal Huisman has exterior styling by Pieter Beeldsnijder Design and the interior has been designed by Rebecca Bradley Interior Design. 

Effortlessly elegant, ATHENA is quite the goddess with classic, traditional styling mixed in with modern amenities such as a fast waterslide plunging guests from the sun deck into the water in seconds and a top-of-the-range gym.

Highly indulgent throughout, social spaces are found in abundance over the three decks with plush lounges, alfresco dining options and a cozy library to satisfy the literary needs of all 10 guests onboard.

2015 - SOLANDGE

Built in 2013 by German shipyard Lurssen, SOLANDGE has been on the charter market for quite some time and has never failed to impress her charter guests.

Featuring exteriors designed by recognized designer Espen Oeino, guests onboard have an abundance of choices when it comes to making the most of the yachting lifestyle onboard, or venturing outside via the spacious beach club.

Onboard entertainment is second to none with multiple bars, a custom dancefloor with DJ station, a large swimming pool, buffet areas and an on-deck Jacuzzi to name a few key features.

2014 - TRANQUILITY

A striking yacht with design inputs from Oceanco on exterior design, interior styling by Winch Design and naval architecture by Azure Naval Architects, the eye-catching dark blue hull and defining splash of red along the base of the hull certainly captures attention.

TRANQUILITY is a voyager on all levels, with an ice-class hull and a helipad certified for an Airbus EC-135 or equivalent, allowing onboard guests to make the most out of every destination. 

Connectivity to the elements is a primal focus with a spacious beach club, a 20sqm swimming pool on the upper deck and wide open spaces throughout to relax, indulge and of course enjoy the views.

Launched in October 2013, she ensures a relaxed luxury yacht experience for everyone including the Owner, who has their own private deck space attached to the palatial suite.

2013 - QUATTROELLE

Star of the 2013 Monaco Yacht Show, QUATTROELLE initially had the same Owner as AHPO (star of the upcoming 2022 edition) and measures up at 88m (288.7ft).

Another captivating build by Lurssen with interiors and exterior styling coming from Nuvolari Lenard, QUATTROELLE won the Best Worldwide Custom Built Yacht at the 2013 Asia Boating Awards and can accommodate up to 16 guests.

Wellness is well catered to within the five-star amenities including relaxation facilities such as a spa, sauna and steam room plus a deep swimming pool and abundant alfresco relaxation areas.

The Owner's suite is definitely worthy of a mention here with private deck space and boasting 180-degree panoramic views from the comfort of the bed. Guest cabins are also finished in a premium fashion, all with ensuite facilities.

2011 - MAN OF STEEL

Delivered in 2010, Man Of Steel is another showcase piece demonstrating the design talents of Nuvolari Lenard, who has penned the interior and exterior designs.

Boasting a four-deck layout plus expansive multifunctional deck space, there's a lot to take in while onboard Man Of Steel from start to finish. 

Entertaining 15 guests is an absolute breeze with a host of wellness facilities including a sauna and steam room, there's a fully equipped state-of-the-art cinema and a dancefloor for fun-filled evenings. Other hidden features can be just as iconic like the infinity pool with an inbuilt projector.

Kitted out with a helipad a tucked away tender garage there's plenty of adventures to be had on and off the decks of Man Of Steel.

2010 - NERO

NERO is a 90.1m (296ft) custom yacht built in 2007 by Corsair Yachts. Boasting interior and exterior styling by Neil Taylor she depicts the aesthetics of an age gone by while bringing a modern twist to a true classic.

Being connected to the great outdoors begins on deck with a Jacuzzi on the sun deck and a pool with a built-in current machine. Guests who love the real thing can however make use of a plethora of water toys including no less than five jet skis, seabobs and loads more.

Nearly all the cabins feature plasma TVs, and with Wifi available onboard there are ample opportunities to enjoy modern-day entertainment at the touch of a button. 

Relaxation is easy to come by with various alfresco dining options and sunbathing areas conveniently located away from the crew, optimizing privacy.
