Dutch shipyard Oceanco have revealed an astonishing new 105 metre expedition concept at the 27th edition of the Dubai Yacht Show. Named after a meteorite, Esquel has been dubbed a 'high-tech go-anywhere' vessel which has been constructed to travel through some of the most unforgiving destinations.
Equipped with a state of the art diesel-electric propulsion unit, Esquel has a top speed of 16.5 knots and a staggering range of 7,000 nautical miles while cruising at 13 knots.
Described by the shipyard as a 'perfect blend between an expedition vessel and sophisticated superyacht', the brand new 105 metre concept features remarkable design inputs from Timur Bozca for exteriors and Lateral Naval Architects for the naval architecture.
While her lines are stately and chic, she is clearly a no-nonsense, high-tech, go-anywhere vessel that would be equally comfortable in the Med or in the Arctic Circle.
The modern exterior design is described as masculine by Timur Bozca, the exterior designer, and influenced by the designs of space rockets.
Exteriors provide ample space for enjoying the great outdoors at every destination, with multiple outdoor relaxation areas and al fresco dining options.
A fully certified helipad at the aft of the yacht provides easy and convenient access to the yacht in addition to an accessible way to explore territories.
Interiors for Esquel are a direct contrast to the masculine appearance of the new 105 metre concept from Oceanco. Designed by Gina Brennan, a background of designing private members' clubs has influenced Brennan's work to create an inviting and comfortable atmosphere onboard.
Key highlights of interiors to be found on Esquel include a relaxing health and wellness area which includes a hot tub, gym and yoga room, a garage big enough to hold a Triton submersible and schooling facilities for homeschooling children.
In addition to the many luxurious assets to the new vessel, a large main saloon is the ideal place for guests to relax and mingle throughout the day and night with a large formal dining table and various plush seating areas around a central fireplace.
Accommodation onboard follows the same luxurious trend with guest cabins described as being 'quietly luxurious' and a master suite which boasts undisturbed panoramic views, plus its own lounge and fireplace.
