With a strong presence from Italian manufacturers and a superb fleet of new models on the line-up, the Genoa Boat Show will be celebrating its 60th edition in a COVID-secure setting designed to facilitate brokers, dealers, exhibitors and buyers.
The first major European boat show to get the green light since the start of the COVID crisis, the Genoa Boat Show will be held between 1 - 6 October at Marina della Foce.
The show will play host to two major debuts; the Azimut Magellano 25 and the Benetti 40m Oasis. Both models will be officially unveiled to the public following much anticipation.
There will be plenty of other industry-leading shipyards in attendance, including Ferretti Group, Fincantieri, Princess and Sanlorenzo.
4 shows in 1
The event will be showcasing a format described as ‘4 boat shows in 1’, whereby the different show areas will be separated to ensure visitors can be quickly and easily catered to.
First introduced in 2018, the system has proved a popular way for attendees to navigate the 200,00 square metres of on-land and on-the-water exhibition space.
The format is designed to enable one-to-one contact between exhibitors and visitors while still maintaining COVID secure measures.

There is an auxiliary area called ‘Living at Sea’ which is dedicated to luxury lifestyle and yachting goods.
The Line-Up
The aforementioned Benetti Oasis 40M is expected to be the largest and newest yacht in attendance. She features eye-catching exteriors from New York-based studio Kozerski Architecture, with a focus on an elongated stern with a generous pool that creates a beach club-esque setting. The first hull measures 41.1m (135’) and has been christened Rebeca.
Joining her will be Azimut’s all-new Magellano 25 Metri. A pocket-sized explorer, this yacht was the subject of much acclaim when the YachtBuyer team had the privilege of seeing her ahead of her debut in Viareggio. Ken Freivokh has helmed her exteriors, and she is finished in a unique Royal blue shade that extends into her interiors.
Gulf Craft will also be presenting at the show, with the ninth model of the yard’s highly successful Majesty 100 range on the line-up. Christened Isla, this new yacht was a first-time purchase for an experienced charterer, and she has joined the charter fleet after delivery earlier this year.
Elsewhere, Sanlorenzo will be bringing a fleet of models to the show, including the SL106, SD126 and SX112.
Staying COVID-secure in 2020
Working together with the Italian Marine Industry, I Saloni Nautici have organized the boat show and have chosen to undertake even stricter measures than the ones outlined by governing bodies. The security measures put forward have been met with unanimous approval from a wide panel of health authorities.
Tickets are available exclusively online and visitors must give a preliminary indication of their scheduled arrival time, including the date. There will be thermal readers scanning temperatures at the entrance points and these entrance points will be separated for exhibitors and visitors.
The show will take place almost entirely outdoors, and walkway widths of at least 4 - 6 metres will allow for social distancing while also creating a variety of routes that promote same-direction flow.
