Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 14.8m beam and a 3.85m draft. The yacht is built over 4 decks with an internal volume of 2,851 GT (Gross Tonnes). The design also incorporates a heli-pad.
Construction started in early 2016 with the keel laid under the project name 'Sasha'. Launched in August 2015 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in July 2017.
Exterior Design
Gigia's bright white superstructure, complemented by the deep navy blue hull, emanates an aura of tranquility and luxury. The exterior spaces, directed by Andreas Iseli on the Winch team, manage to match the interior stride for stride, making the Gigia a seamless blend of exterior beauty and interior comfort.
Gigia's main deck features eight escape hatches and four stairways for the crew, serving as an exemplar of the yacht's commitment to safety, without compromising on aesthetics. The spacious aft deck is one of the yacht's large-scale gathering spots, boasting a handsome curved bar and ample sofa seating. Glass doors slide away, linking this covered outdoor lounge with a formal main deck lounge to create an airy and open atmosphere.
The bridge deck above is split evenly between crew and technical spaces and guest areas, featuring a gym with fantastic views aft over a bar, 12-person spa pool, and sunpads. This area is partially covered from the sun, but guests can utilise the staircase on the port side to access the sundeck with chaises, a giant sunpad, and a sofa that faces forward. This is the perfect spot to enjoy the awe-inspiring view when coming into a harbour.
The fully certified helideck, for day or night-time use, is located forward. Its slightly raised position not only provides a practical landing space but also serves as a windbreak for the owner's outdoor lounge. The yacht's tender garage is cleverly concealed beneath the helideck.
The Gigia's lower deck spa area, also known as the relaxation spa, extends to the adjacent wet lounge-cum-beach club. The flooring is oiled teak planked to blend the interior and exterior, opening via a large transom door to the bathing platform, with a descending staircase into the sea.
Interior Design
Gigia features a full beam deck that provides ample space to host a crowd, making it an ideal yacht for social gatherings. Designed by Andrew Winch, both the exterior styling and the interior design of Gigia reflect a love for sports. The yacht houses a sports facility-like spa designed for athletes. It includes a 5.68 square meter steam room, an eight square meter sauna, a 20 square meter sauna/steam lobby covered in mosaics by Andjelka Radojevic, and a 12-seat spa pool. Furthermore, there is a hair salon, a massage room, and a pair of hydrotherapy showers, making it a true sanctuary for relaxation and wellness.
The interior is calming, with a monochromatic palette in soft creams and taupes and accent colors chosen in concert with paintings curated just for this project by an American art adviser. The main deck houses a large gathering spot aft, with a curved bar sporting a beer tap and copious sofa seating. The formal main deck lounge is complete with an auto-play baby grand piano and a beautiful dining room that seats 18.
Gigia's lower deck houses a relaxation spa, a wet area displaying a hand-crafted rose mosaic from famous Serbian artist Andjelka Radojevic. The tranquil area extends to the adjacent wet lounge-cum-beach club. The flooring is oiled teak planked to blend the interior and exterior, opening via a large transom door to the bathing platform, with a descending staircase into the sea. The spa lobby offers a unique trophy case - a glass-walled storage for eight bicycles and four Segways.
Gigia's interior design, described as "American Classic," is a blend of Midwest, nautical style elegance with joinery made of makore throughout, featuring a variety of strong architectural moldings. The balustrade of the owner's staircase is designed as a traditional element, with turned wooden spindles and a complex-shaped handrail.
