The multi-award winning 45.77m motor yacht Ancallia was delivered to her owners in 1984 by Dutch shipyard Feadship. Her naval architecture and exterior design comes from the drawing boards of De Voogt.

Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 8.13m beam and a 2.41m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 434 GT (Gross Tonnes).

She was delivered to her owners in January 1984.

Exterior Design

The exterior design of Ancallia features a classic clipper bow, providing a traditional and distinguished profile. The yacht is fitted with teak decks, known for their durability and aesthetic appeal. Both the hull and superstructure of Ancallia are painted in a pristine white, offering a clean and cohesive look. Complementing the white is a black boot top stripe, which runs along the waterline, highlighting the yacht's sleek silhouette. Below the waterline, the yacht is also finished in black, ensuring a uniform appearance.

The stern was redesigned to include a new swim platform, providing guests with straightforward access to the water. The yacht features teak decks that offer durability and a classic appearance.

The aft deck is equipped with U-shaped sofas, providing a comfortable seating area for guests. The bridge deck is suitable for al fresco dining, while the main deck includes a formal dining space for cooler evenings. The sundeck includes a Jacuzzi with sunpads arranged around the mast, offering a place for relaxation.

Interior Design

The interior design of Ancallia is characterized by polished wood paneling and a neutral color palette, providing a refined and understated environment. The modern-classic design by British-based Colefax & Fowler offers a balanced combination of elegance and functionality.

Ancallia offers several lounges and salons for guests to relax and socialize. The main salon is fitted with comfortable seating and is ideal for both intimate gatherings and larger social events. The neutral tones and polished wood create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The formal dining space on the main deck is suitable for hosting elegant dinners. The design ensures a pleasant dining experience, with attention to detail in the furnishings and table settings.

Accommodation

Ancallia accommodates up to 16 guests across seven cabins. This includes a master suite, a VIP stateroom, four guest cabins, and an additional cabin for staff. The master suite offers a refined and comfortable space with polished wood paneling and a neutral palette, creating an inviting atmosphere. The VIP stateroom and guest cabins maintain the same design ethos, ensuring a consistent and pleasant experience throughout the yacht.

Crew quarters are thoughtfully designed to host up to nine members, ensuring efficient and discreet service to enhance the guest experience.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (3512C DITA) 12-cylinder 1,400hp engines running at 1600rpm, motor yacht Ancallia is capable of reaching a top speed of 15 knots, and comfortably cruises at 13 knots. With her 53,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 2,300 nautical miles at 13 knots. She has been fitted with stabilizers to increase on-board comfort when the yacht is at anchor, particularly in rough waters.
