Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 28'10" beam and a 9'8" draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 499 GT (Gross Tonnes).

The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards.

Exterior Design

The exterior design of Awatea is characterized by its distinctive "Peter Blue" custom hull color, which alongside its white superstructure and raked bow, has marked her identity on the waters.

The sundeck features a wrap-around settee paired with two dining tables at the forward end, providing an enjoyable spot for meals while cruising. A bar with seating for four and a whirlpool surrounded by sun pads enhance this outdoor area, making it ideal for relaxation and entertainment under the sky.

Moving to the bridge deck, a U-shaped settee encircles a dining table, positioned to enjoy forward views, complemented by forward-facing sun pads.

The aft deck provides U-shaped seating with cocktail tables, with access to the swim platform and beach club. The swimming platform is designed for easy access to water sports, equipped with custom fenders and a carbon fiber swim ladder, and can be adapted for dining or recreational activities.

Awatea features a "Peter Blue" hull and luxurious amenities, accommodating 14 guests for long voyages with a top speed of 13 knots and a range of 4,600 nautical miles.

Interior Design

The interior design of Awatea reflects a nautical theme, drawing inspiration from classic sailboats. This theme is evident in the choice of materials, including mahogany panels and whitewashed coffered ceilings. The incorporation of beveled joinery adds to the overall aesthetic, providing a level of detail that complements the yacht's design. The color palette is dominated by various tones of blue and indigo, contributing to a fresh and sporty atmosphere that is also welcoming to guests and crew alike.

The main deck features a formal dining area that can accommodate up to 10 guests, separated from the main salon by a paneled partition. This setup allows for intimate dining experiences while still being connected to the social area of the salon. The bridge deck aft offers a more informal dining setting, also seating 10, suitable for casual meals or gatherings.

The wheelhouse includes a central raised table surrounded by a settee, facilitating discussions or planning sessions related to the yacht's journey. The ship's office is located aft to port, providing a dedicated space for managing the yacht's administrative tasks. There is a double Captain's cabin further aft. A stand-up bar near the stairs leading to the main deck and a day bathroom add to the functionality of this space. The sky lounge extends this area's usability with a dinette table, an L-shaped settee, and a variety of relaxed seating options facing an entertainment center, leading out to a shaded outdoor dining area.

In the galley, functionality meets design with modern appliances and ample storage. The space includes wine storage for 34 bottles, a Miele dishwasher, and Foster Refrigerators, ensuring that the culinary team has everything needed to prepare and serve exceptional meals.

Accommodation

Awatea can accommodate up to 14 guests in a comfortable and efficient layout that optimizes her 499 GT volume. The accommodation onboard Awatea is divided into a full-beam owner's suite, four guest staterooms, and additional Pullman berths, ensuring ample space for guests during their stay.

The owner's suite is notable for its full-beam design and high ceilings of 2.30m, enhancing the sense of spaciousness. Accessed through a private study, the suite boasts a walk-in wardrobe, a generously sized bathroom complete with a whirlpool, stall shower, double washbasins, an infrared sauna, and a separate toilet, providing a private retreat for the yacht's owner.

Below deck, Awatea offers four guest staterooms that are unusually spacious for a yacht of her size. These staterooms are versatile, with beds that can be arranged as either doubles or twins, according to guests' needs. This flexibility is complemented by the inclusion of Pullman berths in two of the staterooms, allowing for additional guest accommodation. Each stateroom has its own ensuite bathroom, ensuring privacy and convenience for all guests aboard. For added practicality, there is dedicated storage space beneath the guest lobby for luggage, making for an uncluttered living environment.

Accommodating a crew of nine members, Awatea ensures that there is ample provision for those who operate and maintain the yacht. The crew quarters include four double cabins located on the lower deck, each furnished with upper and lower berths and ensuite bathrooms.
