Exterior Design
The exterior design of the 151-foot Big Aron reflects its purpose as a robust expedition yacht, capable of handling various sea conditions. Built in 2004, this vessel features a high-flared bow, a common trait in trawler expedition yachts that enhances its ability to navigate rough waters. The bow is complemented by a foremast, underscoring its readiness for long voyages.
Following the bow, the forward boat deck is spacious enough to accommodate two tenders, facilitating easy launching and recovery, even while underway. The deck's strategic location allows the bridge team to maintain visibility and oversight, ensuring efficient operations.
The radar mast is equipped with a suite of satellite dishes, including four domes, which serve to keep passengers connected globally, regardless of their remote location. This emphasis on connectivity is central to the yacht's functionality as a global explorer.
Communal exterior spaces are generous, providing ample room for social interaction and relaxation. A plunge pool is situated aft of the radar mast, adding an element of leisure to the yacht's design. The exterior also offers multiple alfresco dining areas, catering to those who enjoy outdoor dining experiences during extended sea voyages.
Interior Design
Designed by Ole Rune, the yacht's interior combines practicality with an inviting atmosphere. The galley on Big Aron stands out for its considerable size, larger than most restaurant kitchens, offering ample space for culinary operations.
Moving to the helm, the bridge is designed with precision and functionality in mind. It features a total of seven screens, ensuring that the captain and crew have access to all necessary information. The layout promotes efficient operation, with easy access to controls and displays that monitor the yacht's systems and surroundings.
