Delivered in 2018, Brigadoon is an award winning 36.58m motor yacht built by Dutch shipyard Moonen. The yacht's elegant exterior design is by René van der Velden Yacht Design, while her interiors are the work of Nauta Yachts.
Design & Construction
Designed around a semi-displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 8m beam and a 2.15m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 349 GT (Gross Tonnes).
This was the first yacht built on the Martinique 112 design. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in June 2018 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in July 2018.
Exterior Design
Moonen's 122 Martinique range made waves with its fast displacement long-range capability. Brigadoon, the inaugural yacht in the series, boasts a robust steel and aluminum build. Its design accentuates wide-body and high-volume spaces, with ample railings and wide companionways.
The bow's high, rounded design leads to a functional teak foredeck with prominent guardrails, while open fairleads add visual interest to the pristine white hull. Portholes on the lower deck ensure natural light suffuses the interior. The stern features a deep bathing platform accessible from the main deck aft by twin staircases, with integrated shell doors for watercraft access.
On the main deck aft, al fresco dining is facilitated by a smart table and nautical striped director chairs, complemented by banquette seating and built-in cabinetry for guest service. The upper deck serves as an expansive guest area, featuring a Linley-designed Summit seating arrangement with a central table on a woven rug. A drop-down screen transforms the space into an outdoor cinema, while Linley chairs surround the smart dining table, accented with a mid-grey pattern contrasting the black framework.
A sleek black bootstrap delineates the water's edge, while atop the yacht, banquette seating forms the sun deck aft beam, facing a raised circular jacuzzi tub with teak steps. The canopy of the radar mast, supported by sleek black columns, provides shade for guest comfort. Stairway access to the lower deck is situated on the port quarter.
The staircase linking the deck levels is located on the port side, while a launching crane provides operational functionality on the upper deck's starboard aft. Adding interest to the profile, a smart grill feature is positioned just aft of the nameplate on the upper deck level.
Interior Design
The interior exudes charm with a relaxed ambiance, blending natural materials with mid-wood to create a home away-from-home vibe. Large windows flood the space with natural light, while sofas combine corduroy with leather, and Progetti armchairs by Giorgetti are paired with curved leather glass-topped tables. Accents of blue, from lampshades to occasional artwork, add pops of color against cream wall panels.
Cabins maintain the soft palette for cohesion, with muted colors introduced to provide contrast.
Accommodation
Brigadoon offers accommodation for up to 10 guests in 6 suites comprising an owners cabin, 2 VIP cabins, 2 double cabins and 2 twin cabins. She is also capable of carrying up to 6 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (C-32) 1,925hp engines, motor yacht Brigadoon is capable of reaching a top speed of 17 knots, and comfortably cruises at 14 knots. With her 35,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 3,900 nautical miles at 10 knots. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.
