Construction started in late 2008. This was the first yacht built in the series. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. She was delivered to her owners in October 2010.

Exterior Design

DB9's exterior design is a stunning testament to the mastery of modern yacht aesthetics, boasting a bold, sporty profile that is instantly recognizable on the water. The yacht's sleek lines and aggressive stance are the work of the renowned design duo Nuvolari Lenard, who have meticulously crafted an iconic silhouette that merges grace and power. The remarkable gold-hued paintwork is not only a head-turner but also accentuates DB9's dynamic form, creating a visual statement of luxury and performance.

The aft deck, a social hub of the yacht, is ingeniously designed with a freshwater infinity-edge Jacuzzi, offering guests a sensational relaxation experience, particularly when lit at night. The Jacuzzi includes an innovative drop pool feature, ensuring stability and comfort even while cruising. The deck area is versatile, with sun lounges that emphasize expansive relaxation space and convertible tables that can be adjusted for dining or lowered for casual gatherings. This transformative space is further enhanced by power-operated benches that shift with the touch of a button, a testament to DB9's commitment to effortless luxury.

DB9's commitment to outdoor living is further exemplified by her generous sun deck, crowned by an eight-meter saltwater swimming pool—an exceptional feature for a yacht of her size. This space serves dual purposes, functioning as both a leisure area and a tender garage, showcasing the yacht's innovative design solutions. The sun deck is a symphony of luxury and functionality, with a fully equipped gym area, an outdoor movie theater with a projector and screen, and yet another Jacuzzi, offering an intimate setting for unwinding under the stars.

The flybridge, easily accessible and superbly appointed, provides an elevated vantage point for guests to soak in panoramic views. The design continues the yacht's theme of blending performance with pleasure, featuring a barbecue area, fridge, and ice maker for hosting unforgettable gatherings. The bridge wings, with their fold-out capability, offer a unique perspective, allowing guests to gaze down the yacht's length with ease and adding to the sense of grandeur and openness.

Throughout DB9, the interior design successfully achieves a balance, marrying the yacht's vibrant energy with an inviting elegance that promises guests an unforgettable experience on the water.

Interior Design

DB9's interior is a masterful showcase of elegance and serenity. Created with a light and airy atmosphere, the interior spaces offer a stark but harmonious contrast to the yacht's bold and sporty exterior. The salon is a testament to this design philosophy, where guests are embraced by a calming palette of whites and creams, complemented by natural light streaming in through the panoramic side windows. The salon's open layout, accentuated by the yacht's impressive beam, enhances the sense of spaciousness, making it an ideal setting for socializing and relaxation.

Moving forward, the main deck surprises with a sophisticated bar area, featuring a dramatic one-and-a-half-story headroom that defies the expectations set by the yacht's sleek profile. This sociable space is not only visually stunning, with its backlit elements and expansive glass, but it also conceals an 82-inch television behind a large mirror, emerging only when entertainment calls.

Performance & Capabilities

DB9, a Palmer Johnson 170, is a remarkable vessel that embodies luxury, performance, and engineering prowess. This yacht is powered by twin MTU 16-valve engines, each producing a remarkable 4,613 horsepower, allowing her to glide across the water at a thrilling top speed of 32 knots. DB9's robust engineering does not compromise efficiency; at a cruising speed of 22 knots, she is capable of covering significant distances with grace and agility.

The yacht's range is equally impressive, boasting a transatlantic capability at a lower speed of 10 knots, offering a range of 5,000 nautical miles. Even at a faster cruising speed of 15 to 20 knots, DB9 maintains a substantial range of around 3,000 nautical miles, ensuring extensive voyaging potential for owners and guests alike.

DB9's performance is further enhanced by her advanced stabilizer system. She is equipped with gyroscopic zero-speed stabilizers that significantly reduce roll motion effect and ensure optimal comfort at anchor or in rough sea conditions. These stabilizers enable guests to enjoy a tranquil and steady experience on board, regardless of the yacht's dynamic performance capabilities.

The yacht's mechanical ingenuity is also exemplified in her engine bay, which houses the powerful MTU engines alongside triple 80 kilowatt generators. The space, although occupied by these mechanical giants, is well-arranged, allowing for easy access and maintenance. This attention to detail in the design of DB9's engineering spaces underscores the Palmer Johnson commitment to excellence in yacht building.

With her substantial fuel capacity of 117,000 liters, she is more than prepared to undertake extensive voyages or provide exhilarating bursts of speed, all while ensuring the utmost comfort for those aboard. Her semi-displacement hull design is a perfect complement to her power, providing ample space and luxurious amenities without sacrificing the thrill of a true performance yacht.

With a focus on comfort and luxury, DB9 exemplifies the pinnacle of yachting excellence, both in design and service, promising an unforgettable experience for those on board.

Amenities

In addition, a swim platform is on hand for guests looking to cool off in the sea. The yacht can house plenty of nautical toys and accessories, with a well-appointed tender garage for storing her impressive locker. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort.
