Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 7.72m beam and a 2.5m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 336 GT (Gross Tonnes).

The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards.

Exterior Design

The exterior design of the majestic Dojo seamlessly marries classic elegance with modern functionality, a testament to the yacht's comprehensive eight-month restoration. The original 1981 build, designed by the legendary Jon Bannenberg, has been lovingly preserved and thoughtfully enhanced, ensuring Dojo not only maintains her vintage charm but also meets the exacting standards of contemporary luxury yachting.

A significant aspect of Dojo's transformation in 2018 involved a meticulously executed extension of the stern by three meters, a modification that was less about increasing length and more about enhancing the yacht's connection with the sea. The new stern design incorporates a spacious bathing platform that sits invitingly close to the waterline, inviting effortless access to the ocean and creating an intimate area for the owner and guests to enjoy the aquatic environment. This addition is both functional and aesthetically pleasing, with steps leading gracefully from the bathing platform to the main deck, integrating a much-needed technical space beneath.

Craftsmanship is evident in every detail of Dojo's exterior, with 250 square meters of teak decking completely lifted, leveled, and replaced to provide a flawless finish underfoot. The teak's warm, rich tones are a nod to yachting tradition, offering a sophisticated and sturdy surface for outdoor living.

The hull itself underwent a comprehensive fairing and repainting process, which not only restored its luster but also ensured the enduring integrity and performance of the yacht. The fresh, gleaming topsides of Dojo now reflect her renewed spirit, catching the eyes of admirers as she cuts through the water with grace and poise.

Onboard, the ample deck spaces are designed for relaxation, with generous sofas on the superyacht sundeck that beckon guests to bask in the sun's embrace. The exterior's transformation respects the original design ethos while infusing a contemporary flair, catering to the desires of those who seek both the timeless allure of a classic Feadship and the comforts of modern luxury.

Dojo is a floating sanctuary where classic charm meets modern ease, allowing those on board to fully indulge in the art of yachting.

Interior Design

The interior color palette is a dance between the dark tobacco of the key cabinetry and the lustrous cream of the carpets, creating an atmosphere of understated luxury. The tactile experience is enriched by the use of deep, vintage-effect leather on select pieces of furniture, imparting a sense of warmth and refinement. This leather, known for its unsplit, full-grain quality, is treated with care – rolled, brushed, and dyed to achieve an authentic, aged appearance akin to traditional steamer trunks.

The upper saloon, now a serene retreat with panoramic views is a tranquil space for relaxation or private gatherings. Throughout the yacht, subtle variations in fabric textures and shades underscore the bespoke nature of the decor, ensuring that each area retains its unique character while remaining harmoniously tied to the overall design theme.

Accommodation

Dojo's living quarters are thoughtfully designed to cater to the discerning tastes of up to 9 guests, ensuring a stay that's as comfortable as it is memorable. The yacht's accommodation is segmented into an impressive owner's suite, a VIP cabin, and two additional guest cabins, each crafted to provide a serene refuge from the bustling world beyond the waves.

The owner's suite is a testament to opulent living, situated on the main deck to afford sweeping views of the ocean. This expansive space is more than just a bedroom; it's a sanctuary that features an inviting king-size bed, ample storage, and a luxurious en suite bathroom that boasts fine marble finishes. The suite's décor is a harmonious blend of classic elegance and contemporary finesse, designed to evoke a sense of relaxation and refinement.

Adjacent to the owner's suite, a specially configured cabin awaits, perfect for family members who prefer to stay close. This room can easily be integrated into the owner's suite to create an even more palatial area, or it can function as an independent cabin with all the luxurious touches one would expect from a yacht of Dojo's caliber.

The VIP cabin is no less impressive, providing guests with a sumptuous queen-size bed, generous wardrobe space, and a private en suite bathroom. Sophisticated design elements and plush furnishings ensure that guests enjoy both comfort and style during their time on board.

Complementing the VIP cabin, the two guest cabins are meticulously appointed to deliver a tranquil atmosphere for rest and relaxation. Each cabin is outfitted with twin beds that can be converted into a double bed configuration, offering flexibility to accommodate a variety of guest arrangements. The en suite bathrooms mirror the yacht's overarching theme of understated luxury, featuring high-end fixtures and finishes.

Dojo's commitment to excellence extends to the crew quarters, where the team of 10 responsible for ensuring a seamless voyage resides. The crew accommodations are designed to provide the staff with a comfortable, private space that allows them to rest and recharge. By ensuring the well-being of the crew, Dojo guarantees the highest level of service for her guests.

Performance & Capabilities

The impressive restoration of the 43-meter Feadship Dojo not only revitalized her aesthetic and comfort but also involved significant technical enhancements to her mechanical capabilities.

Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (DTCE 398) 932hp engines, Dojo is capable of reaching a top speed of 15 knots, and comfortably cruises at 13 knots. These robust diesel engines ensure reliable performance and smooth cruising. These engines are typically chosen for their durability, fuel efficiency, and ability to propel the yacht with sufficient power.

With her 45,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 3,455 nautical miles at 12 knots, allowing for extended voyages without the need for frequent refueling stops.

Dojo has been fitted with zero-speed stabilizers. The addition of these stabilizers dramatically improves onboard comfort, reducing roll motion both while underway and at anchor. This advancement ensures that guests can enjoy their time on the water with minimal disruption from sea conditions.

The commitment to technical excellence is further exemplified by the extensive work carried out on Dojo's water tanks and the installation of a new air-conditioning system, ensuring the highest levels of hygiene and climate control.

Dojo's restoration journey has not only rejuvenated her structure but has also invigorated the spirit of the vessel. The careful attention to detail and unwavering commitment to quality throughout the refit process have culminated in a yacht that stands proudly among the finest examples of maritime excellence.
