Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 33'10" beam and a 11'4" draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 1,045 GT (Gross Tonnes). The design also incorporates a heli-pad.
This was the first yacht built on the Amels 199 design. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in February 2013 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in September 2013.
Exterior Design
One of the most notable features is the "scimitar bow," named for its resemblance to the curved sword. This bow shape not only adds visual interest but also enhances performance, making the yacht slightly faster than expected. The lack of flare and the inclusion of a stylish spray rail keep the foredeck dry and provide additional volume for housing tenders and toys in a forward garage with gull-wing doors. A helipad is situated forward of Portuguese bridge.
Event's round portlights, set into the hull and transom, contribute to a profile that balances modern and traditional elements. The curved and hard edges create a harmonious appearance that is both strong and elegant. The bridge deck wing stations are integrated into "blisters" that blend with the superstructure, ensuring good visibility without complex mechanisms. The radar domes are positioned widely on the sundeck roof to create a streamlined mast profile and reduce reception blind spots.
The exterior design also includes practical features such as stainless steel handrails on the open aft decks, which lean outward to match the exterior styling and provide a sense of expansive deck space. The sundeck is a key area, featuring a central lounge that opens to a circular movie-viewing area. Forward of this space is a teak-clad hot tub, sunbed, and buffet area, accessible via a dumbwaiter from the main-deck galley.
Interior Design
The main deck offers a saloon aft of the dining area, which can also serve as a meeting room. The bulwarks on both sides of the dining area fold out to create balconies over the sea, enhancing the dining experience with stunning views.
The upper deck includes a second saloon equipped with a grand piano, adding a touch of elegance. Additionally, the lounge on the sun deck is enclosed but bright, with the ability to open out both forward and aft. This versatile space can function as a corridor, living area, or even a cinema, catering to various guest preferences.
The interior spaces feature a variety of deluxe designer brands. Hervé Van der Straeten's designs are prominent, while silk carpets by Tai Ping provide comfort and luxury underfoot. Most of the furniture was designed by Laura Sessa and crafted by Metrica, with some pieces from Promemoria. Textiles include cool, fresh cotton and linen from Designers Guild, Nobilis, and Loro Piana, ensuring a pleasant atmosphere throughout the yacht.
Accommodation
Event can accommodate up to 12 guests in its well-appointed cabins. The lower deck features three guest cabins, each complete with marble-adorned bathrooms, and are styled with a mixture of cool, fresh cotton and linen textiles from renowned designers.
The owner’s quarters are situated forward on the main deck. The suite is characterized by its circular portholes, silk carpeting, and exquisite Loro Piana textiles. Custom furnishings crafted by Metrica of Germany, including freestanding pieces like the cabinet in the lobby and occasional tables, add to the suite's refined ambiance.
On the upper deck, two VIP suites provide additional luxurious accommodation. These suites, like the other cabins, are decorated with high-end materials and thoughtful design touches.
She is also capable of carrying up to 15 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience. The captain’s cabin is also located on the upper deck, adjacent to the high-tech bridge, ensuring quick and easy access to the yacht’s operational hub.
