Construction started in mid 2003. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards.
Exterior Design
The exterior design of Lady Maja I features a clipper bow that cuts through the water efficiently. Its deck is made of teak, providing durability and a classic marine appearance. The hull and superstructure are painted white, presenting a clean and unified look. The boot top and antifoul colors are black, adding a sharp contrast to the overall design. The yacht's exterior combines functional elements with a straightforward aesthetic.
Lady Maja I includes spacious deck areas designed for relaxation and dining. The primary outdoor dining space is located at the aft of the main deck. The tenders are stored in two garages at the aft, with doors that open upwards and overhead sliding hoists for easy access.
At night, Lady Maja I is illuminated with pinpoint lights on the owner's and sun decks. The yacht's name is backlit with LED through etched glass, and underwater lights produce a green glow in the surrounding water. The exterior design focuses on practical use while maintaining a clean, straightforward aesthetic.
Interior Design
The interior design of Lady Maja I reflects a modern style with a strong Art Deco influence. Designed by François Zuretti, the yacht features a bright and contemporary interior, utilizing high-quality materials to create a sophisticated environment.
The woodwork throughout Lady Maja I is finished with a semi-matte satin varnish, highlighting the natural beauty of the timber without excessive shine. The upper saloon, a key area of the yacht, benefits from floor-to-ceiling glass doors that allow natural light to flood the space. The forward bulkhead in this area is surfaced with burl myrtle, inset with panels of burl maple, and framed with a narrow string of rosewood. Decorative borders featuring dark tinted maple in the form of tiny curled waves adorn the walls at dado height.
Indirect lighting is a central feature in the yacht's design, provided by golden sconces that reflect off the woodwork. Back-lit panels of molded blue-green glass are strategically placed throughout the yacht to enhance the ambiance. The interior boasts marble floors with strip lighting, underlit treads on stairs, and illuminated handrails. The upper hallway is notable for its display of porphyry vases. Zebra-striped zebrano timber is prominently used in public spaces such as hallways and stairs, adding a distinctive touch.
One of the standout features of Lady Maja I is the upper saloon, which incorporates a blend of luxurious materials and intricate design elements. The forward bulkhead, adorned with burl myrtle and burl maple, includes decorative rosewood framing and tinted maple wave patterns. The space is well-lit, using both natural light from the glass doors and indirect lighting from golden sconces and back-lit glass panels.
Lady Maja I also features an elegant beauty salon, providing a dedicated space for relaxation and personal care. The dining room, located forward on the starboard side, utilizes half the hull's width and includes a large opening window that creates a terrace-like atmosphere.
The gym, situated in the usual lazarette area, is fitted with skylights and patio doors leading to the boarding platform. It includes amenities such as a shower and a fully tiled steam room with a fiber-optic 'twinkling star' ceiling, providing a functional and aesthetically pleasing exercise area.
Accommodation
Lady Maja can host up to 12 guests in well-appointed cabins. The owner's suite is located on the upper deck, providing an exclusive and private space for the owner and their spouse. This area includes a spacious and elegant suite with panoramic windows, offering breathtaking views. Additionally, the suite features a private saloon with doors that open onto the aft deck, allowing for seamless indoor-outdoor living.
The lower deck houses the guest cabins, which are designed to be bright and inviting. Each cabin is equipped with two large oval ports, allowing natural light to flood the space. The cabins are generously sized and include silk-paneled walls and marble bath and shower rooms. The materials and finishes in each cabin are customized, providing a unique and personal touch to the decor.
