Design & Construction

Designed around a full displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 37'5" beam and a 12'6" draft. The yacht is built over 4 decks with an internal volume of 1,295 GT (Gross Tonnes).

The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards.

Exterior Design

The sundeck offers secluded space for guests looking to escape. This area is equipped with captain’s chairs, enhancing navigation and providing an ideal vantage point for entering marinas and ports. Loon's design emphasizes open spaces and includes significant amenities like a deep hot tub capable of accommodating eight people, complemented by a minimalist deck that remains sheltered even in windy conditions. The yacht's layout is unique, eliminating side decks at the sundeck level to maximize interior space, a thoughtful consideration for guest comfort and privacy.

Moving to the bow, Loon is prepared for transatlantic journeys with practical features including storage for an outboard and a substantial workshop area. The foredeck serves as a functional space for the crew, distinct from guest areas, ensuring smooth operations and safety.

Loon's tender garage is another noteworthy aspect of its exterior design. Housing two tenders and equipped with hydraulic arms for easy launch, this feature exemplifies the yacht's readiness for adventure and exploration. The tender garage facilitates quick deployment of water toys and equipment, enhancing the guest experience with efficiency and convenience.

Central to Loon's design is the transformational beach club, connected to the upper decks to form a multi-level entertainment and relaxation zone. With the folding down of Loon's transom, a generous swim platform emerges, complete with a service bar, setting the scene for unforgettable ocean-side gatherings. The integration of teak and limed oak within the beach club exudes a sense of wellness, surrounded by a central open space equipped with a recessed TV and plush seating. Even with the transom closed, this versatile area doubles as a recreational space or a lively disco, ensuring the beach club remains a focal point of enjoyment regardless of configuration.

Loon further impresses with her vast exterior deck space, which has been crafted to provide diverse areas for enjoyment. The yacht's forward and aft decks are adorned in a soothing color palette of taupe, yellow, and white, contrasting beautifully against the dark hull and pristine white superstructure. All exterior soft furnishings were reupholstered in 2022, ensuring a fresh and inviting ambiance for guests.

Interior Design

The sumptuous interior of Loon, as envisioned by the acclaimed Dutch Studio Linse, is a masterclass in minimalistic design coupled with precise luxury. It presents a serene array of warm pastel tones and sophisticated decor, ensuring guests feel an immediate sense of tranquility and refinement upon stepping inside.

Central to Loon's appeal is the harmonious blend of interior and exterior spaces that accentuates the pleasure of ocean living. This  integration becomes particularly evident in the dining room that graciously opens onto the main deck. Such a configuration extends the alfresco experience, allowing the aft deck to serve as an inviting outdoor lounge complementing the forward interior salon. This thoughtful layout ensures a generous perception of space, maintained even when the elegant glass pocket doors are drawn closed. The upper salon area is furnished with comfortable seating that supports both social gatherings and intimate moments. Its decor is characterized by a minimalist approach, incorporating mid-century modern furniture that complements the overall design philosophy of the yacht.

The modern central staircase, a visual focal point, is adorned with an impressive artistic photograph on acrylic glass, which spans four decks, adding to the yacht's contemporary allure. 

The bridge of Loon is equipped with state-of-the-art navigation technology, featuring touch panel displays and a minimalistic conning station for efficient control. The design prioritizes clear visibility and ergonomics, making it a functional space for the crew. The use of compact technology, such as small joystick controls for steering, reflects a modern approach to yacht navigation.

The galley is another highlight of Loon's interior, equipped with professional-grade appliances to cater to the culinary needs of guests and crew alike. It features dual fridges and freezers, combi ovens with multiple functions, and an efficient extraction system over the cooking area. The inclusion of a short cycle dishwasher underscores the emphasis on practicality, ensuring that the galley operates smoothly even during busy periods.

Accommodation

Loon invites thirteen guests to experience her seven staterooms, each a sanctuary of comfort and style.

The yacht features a unique two-story owner's suite, which includes an owner's salon/office on the upper level and the bedroom below. This design not only maximizes the use of space but also offers the owner a multifunctional area that can be used for relaxation or work, depending on the need. The suite is complete with an en suite bathroom that features luxurious fittings, including a large bathtub and shower, providing a perfect retreat for the yacht's owner. The upper area opens onto a secluded deck on the bow. This private outdoor area is replete with sheltered seating and plush sun pads, offering the owner an exclusive escape with breathtaking views.

For additional guests, Loon offers a VIP cabin and several guest cabins. The VIP cabin is equipped with a queen-size bed, an en suite bathroom, and thoughtful touches such as a sitting makeup/office spot, enhancing the comfort and convenience for its occupants. The guest cabins are designed with flexibility in mind; some feature king-size beds while others offer twin beds, which can be converted to suit the guests' requirements. Each cabin boasts an en suite bathroom, ample storage space, and large windows to allow natural light and breathtaking views of the surroundings.

Each stateroom has large windows inviting natural light to dance across the refined interiors. En suite marble and chrome bathrooms feature showers with views of the water, adding to the serene ambiance. The suites are adorned with tasteful leather paneling and decorated in a soothing palette of duck-egg blue, cream, and taupe.

For entertainment within these private quarters, the guest staterooms are equipped with state-of-the-art LED iPad-controlled Samsung Frame TVs, providing a seamless blend of technology and comfort.

Eighteen crew members are accommodated in ten well-appointed cabins on the upper and lower decks, ensuring that each guest receives attentive and personalized service. A watertight door at the end of the lower deck corridor provides the crew discreet access to the guest areas. The captain's cabin features an en suite bathroom, desk, and TV. A spacious crew mess doubles as a relaxation and entertainment space, demonstrating an understanding that the crew's comfort is essential for the smooth operation of the yacht. The laundry facilities are well-appointed, with multiple machines to handle the demands of guests and crew, further emphasizing the practical design approach of the yacht.

Performance & Capabilities

Loon is powered by MT-4000 M71 series engines, featuring a setup that includes V16 engines with 2500 horsepower each. These engines are the driving force behind Loon's formidable capabilities, providing her with a maximum speed of 16 knots. When cruising at a more leisurely pace of 12.5 knots, Loon exhibits exceptional range, capable of navigating up to 6,000 nautical miles without the need for refueling. 

Understanding the importance of comfort during any voyage, Loon is equipped with state-of-the-art stabilization systems that function both underway and at anchor. 

Safety is paramount aboard Loon, which is why she adheres to the rigorous standards set by Lloyd's class and is LY2 compliant. Furthermore, her status as a Cayman-flagged vessel with European VAT paid attests to her compliance with the necessary regulations, providing peace of mind to both owners and guests.

Loon boasts an impressive fresh water production capability, with systems capable of producing up to 24,000 liters of fresh water per day. The yacht has a total fresh water storage capacity of nearly 40,000 liters. Water treatment includes the use of silver ion and UV sterilization, ensuring the highest quality of water for guests and crew.

A high-capacity air conditioning system ensures the interior of the yacht remains comfortable regardless of external conditions. The system includes four compressors and utilizes a chilled water system that circulates throughout the yacht, cooling various compartments efficiently. The engine room also houses the yacht's fire and bilge pumps, along with the sea chest and stabilizing systems, underlining the comprehensive approach to onboard safety and operational integrity.

A notable addition to Loon's technical capabilities is the inclusion of a 3D printer, utilized by the engineering team for creating bespoke parts and replacements, thereby enhancing the yacht's self-sufficiency and maintenance efficiency.

Tenders

Loon is outfitted with a selection of tenders and watercraft that underscore her commitment to adventure and exploration. The yacht carries three tenders: a 7.2m Super Air Nautique Ski Boat and a 7.5m X-craft Beachlander, both delivered in 2022, and an unsinkable 3.6m Narwhal rescue boat. These vessels are housed in forward garages that are concealed by innovative folding doors, ensuring that they are readily accessible while maintaining the yacht's sleek aesthetic. Launched using port and starboard Cramm cranes, each with a 4-ton lifting capacity, the operation is designed to be as efficient as possible. Alongside these tenders, Loon also stores three Yamaha jet skis and two Seabobs, allowing guests to engage in a variety of water-based activities with ease.
