Design & Construction

She was delivered to her owners in March 2010.

Exterior Design

Ocean Pearl, a masterpiece by Foster and Partners, boasts a radical and innovative design inspired by marine elements. This visionary design ensures an exceptionally light and spacious interior, characterized by continuous window sections and external balconies scattered throughout the yacht to enhance the sense of freedom and openness. With its distinctive fish-like shape, Ocean Pearl offers over 30% more exterior and interior space compared to other yachts in its category. Glazed bulkheads and expansive window openings merge indoor and outdoor spaces, while the teak planking of the main deck promotes fluidity and continuity between different areas. The curved superstructure, rising from the aft waterline to meet the flat-head raked bow, creates a sheltered yet open forward area, with grills and railings breaking the uniformity of the steel grey hull and superstructure. A sleek black arch for the navigation and communication tower adds a striking contrast to the design.

The foredeck of the yacht showcases an extensive use of steps spanning three deck levels, offering both functionality and visual appeal. However, the most striking feature is undoubtedly the full beam teak stairway at the stern. This grand staircase leads from the bathing platform to the main deck aft, before dividing into twin staircases tucked into the superstructure on both sides, ascending to the sundeck in a sweeping movement, creating a unique and remarkable design feature that sets the yacht apart.

The internal sides of the stairways are open to the deck, with only a stylish steel guardrail providing a subtle barrier. This design ensures a sense of openness and connectivity with the surrounding deck while maintaining safety. In contrast, the exterior sides of the stairways are nestled against the high coaming, offering a secure ascent with added protection.

The design of the staircase treads and angles is crafted to cast intriguing shadows, adding depth and visual interest to the deck, with dynamic shadows creating ever-changing patterns and features.

The yacht's exterior spaces were designed to provide shelter while remaining open to embrace the expanse of the ocean. Integrated seating is placed along curved lines with clever lighting illuminating the curves throughout. The decks feature wide walkways surrounding the central interior spaces. From the main deck aft looking up towards the tower, guests will be struck by the strength of the arch and the winged features of the profile.

The sundeck enjoys the freedom of the sky above, with sun pads for guests to enjoy. A glazed circular feature surrounded by integrated seating within the sundeck floor welcomes light into the interior of the deck below

Ocean Pearl features a radical, spacious design with continuous windows and luxurious teak accents, enhancing its exceptional indoor-outdoor flow and innovative marine-inspired aesthetics.

Interior Design

The interior style maintains teak deck flooring throughout to blur the boundaries between exterior and interior spaces. Full-height glazing with striking black bulwarks is the backdrop for minimalistic monochrome furniture. Lighting patterns integrated into the roof lining create a reflective glow against the white-panelled ceiling, mirroring the flow of the deck lines. The circular glazing in the sundeck floor provides an alternative light source, complementing the light flowing in through the side windows and expansive deck doors of the upper deck, and extending through the yacht's deck levels.

In the main deck salon, bold squared-off corner sofas are adorned with accent colors of Mediterranean orange, sun-kissed yellow, and pepper red, adding a vibrant pop of color. The internal stairway is illuminated by a semi-circle of borrowed light from above, enhancing the inviting ambiance of the space.

The cabins showcase wood-paneled ceilings akin to the interior guest areas, while the deep luxurious carpets emulate a grooved laid-deck style. The dual-toned aesthetic persists though introducing an accent color, either a rich royal blue or a golden yellow, subtly setting the cabins apart. These accent hues are tastefully incorporated through bed throws or scatter cushions, adding a touch of elegance and individuality to each space.
