Design & Construction

Designed around a full displacement aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 10.2m beam and a 4.9m draft. The yacht is built over 2 decks with an internal volume of 384 GT (Gross Tonnes).

This was the twenty-fourth yacht built on the Custom design. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards.

Exterior Design

Red Dragon is distinguished by its anthracite grey hull, defined by a slender red cove stripe. The superstructure's design complements this aesthetic, with its sharply angled profile and a continuous dark window line that gives the impression of the flying bridge levitating above the deck.

On the flying bridge, dual helm stations are equipped with a complete suite of navigational instruments. The area is further enhanced by the presence of twin L-shaped banquettes, a well-appointed bar, and a substantial sunpad. Additional seating is provided by two modern chaise lounges, which can be arranged as desired. Automated glass panels integrated into the bulkheads provide both wind protection and the option for air-conditioned comfort.

The yacht's foredeck is both uncluttered and practical, featuring a teak finish and a multi-functional tender bay that doubles as a spa pool.

Red Dragon's exterior design is marked by its sleek hull, innovative use of space, and a focus on sailing performance.

Interior Design

The deck saloon benefits from the warmth of the blond oak panels, which are complemented by wide floorboards and cream-colored carpets. Lighting plays a crucial role in enhancing the interior, employing backlit cupboard doors and strategically placed recesses under cabinets to give the impression of floating furniture. The guest stairwell is similarly illuminated, with light cascading between the steps and bulkhead panels, thereby transforming a traditionally confined space into an area of visual interest and spaciousness.

For entertainment, the main salon is equipped with a 52-inch pop-up television, discreetly housed within a cabinet that also serves as a room divider in the owner's suite.

The yacht's commitment to a clean and functional aesthetic is evident in the practical design of the galley. It features a chilled stainless steel bench-top specifically installed for pastry preparation, reflecting the owners' culinary interests. The galley is equipped with high-end appliances and designed for efficient operation during peak times.

Accommodation

Red Dragont comfortably accommodates a select number of 12 guests in five suites. The guest quarters, located aft of the engine room, consist of two double cabins and a twin cabin with an additional Pullman berth, ensuring versatility in guest arrangements. Each cabin mirrors the yacht's overall design ethos, with cream carpets, blond oak panels, and wide floorboards creating a cohesive and tranquil environment. Ensuite facilities accompany each cabin, featuring honed Spanish limestone and Corian.

The owner's suite is the centerpiece of the yacht's interior. The full-beam cabin exhibits an intelligent use of space, with a bed set low to enhance the feeling of openness. A central cabinet with a concealed 52-inch LCD television separates the bed from a plush, deep-seated sofa, blending technology and comfort. The accompanying full-beam bathroom has a freestanding oval bath taking pride of place, complemented by a separate head and shower room.

For additional guest accommodation, the gymnasium on the same deck includes a Pullman berth and a day head, extending the yacht's capacity to host guests.

Crew accommodation has been designed with equal consideration, ensuring that the team responsible for the smooth operation of Red Dragon can perform their duties to the highest standards. The crew area is planned for up to 10, featuring four ensuite twin-berth cabins situated in the bow.

The design of the service areas, including the galley and laundry, has been influenced by the crew's extensive experience, ensuring efficient operation through intelligent space utilization and access to state-of-the-art appliances. The crew mess, seating ten, is equipped with touchscreen monitoring systems and provides direct access to the engine room.

Performance & Capabilities

Red Dragon is designed to excel under sail, with a carbon fiber mast and lighter PBO composite rigging contributing to reduced overall displacement. The sail plan includes a main, staysail, blade, and genoa, all crafted using advanced materials and technology from Doyle Sails. The yacht is capable of impressive speed and handling, even in strong wind conditions, and is equipped with a range of modern navigational and communication systems.

Red Dragon is a sophisticated sailing yacht equipped with an array of technical features designed for exceptional performance on the open seas. The yacht's mechanical prowess is driven by a Hundested variable pitch propeller, which ensures efficient navigation and maneuverability.

The diesel Caterpillar engine allows for a maximum speed of 15.3 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots. With an impressive range under engine power, she can traverse 5,650 nautical miles at her cruising speed, granting extensive voyages without the need for frequent refueling stops.

For long passages and ultimate convenience, Red Dragon is outfitted with two HEM watermakers capable of producing 16,000 liters of fresh water per day, ensuring an ample supply for guests and crew. The yacht's freshwater capacity stands at 11,080 liters, while its grey and black water systems can accommodate up to 2,000 liters, featuring a Hamann sewage system for efficient waste management.

Safety aboard Red Dragon is paramount, with fire control systems utilizing Novec technology and a robust security system supported by Bosch, including 4 CCTV cameras to monitor the yacht's surroundings. The onboard monitoring is handled by SeaTouch from Alloy Yachts, which provides comprehensive control over the vessel's systems.

The air-conditioning system by Marine Air ensures a comfortable environment for guests, regardless of the external weather conditions. The communication and navigation equipment onboard comprises state-of-the-art technology from Furuno, Iridium, B&G, and Sea Tel, keeping the yacht connected and on the right course.
