Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 30'2" beam and a 8'10" draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 499 GT (Gross Tonnes).
This was the first yacht built on the F45 Vantage design. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards.
Exterior Design
Sport, the inaugural vessel of the Feadship F45 Vantage semi-custom series, boasts a striking and unconventional design. At the stern, Feadship implemented a drop-down stern flap, ensuring enhanced security when closed and maximizing space compared to traditional fixed platforms with external stairs. This innovative feature provides a clean, enclosed stern when shut, while revealing a spacious bathing platform and tender storage when lowered.
The classic Feadship styling is noted at the bow, featuring a raked and flared design meeting an elongated foredeck, transitioning into a clean line along the upper deck. The hull and superstructure, predominantly white, are accentuated by a bold blue bootstrap defining the waterline. Round portholes adorn the lower deck, while a prominent strake runs from aft to amidships. Large vertical glazing on the main deck ensures ample natural light, with feature openings in the gunwales adding visual interest.
Vertical glazing throughout the yacht creates striking contrasts against the white superstructure. A grill feature above the nameplate leads the eye to the sun deck, where a vertical radar mast canopy provides shade over sections of the deck. The sun deck boasts a circular spa pool surrounded by cushions forward, a shaded bar and servery in the center, and an open aft section with sun loungers, optionally covered by an awning. A sliding hatch on the port side facilitates crew access via the bridge deck pantry.
Alfresco dining typically occurs on the bridge deck aft, featuring a table for eight in the shade with expansive views. The main deck aft offers a floating settee and bar area. Open staircases connecting the deck levels are situated on the starboard side, enhancing accessibility and flow throughout the yacht.
Interior Design
The interior design of the Feadship F45 underwent custom modifications by the new owner, including a striking spiral staircase featuring cantilevered and side-lit glass steps rising through a drum of Japanese sen timber wrapped around a dark Macassar wood pillar. A niche in the wall showcases a sculptured human hand from the owner's art collection, adding a serene touch.
Throughout the interior, a cool, airy ambiance prevails, emphasizing textures over finishes. Brushed and limed teak floors provide a slightly rough feel, complemented by Taiping wool and silk carpets laid informally like rugs. Joinery in the saloon features brushed teak with a matte varnish, while lacewood adorns the cabins. Suede leather and padded beige leather panels contribute to both aesthetics and sound absorption.
The main saloon boasts a three-sided arrangement of white silk sofas and chairs around a bronze-finish coffee table crafted by Bill Cleyndert, adding an elegant touch. The upper saloon exudes bright openness, with glazed doors folding flat and floor-to-ceiling internal windows that can be opened to create an expansive space.
Accommodation
One of the defining features of the F45 is its unique guest accommodation layout, all situated on the main deck. This design choice creates exceptionally bright and airy guest cabins with expansive views through large windows. Typically, there would be four guest cabins in the F45 Vantage, along with the master suite forward, although the owner of SPORT opted to sacrifice one cabin to create a larger bathroom for the master cabin. A standout feature is the immense skylight (4m x 2m) in the owner's suite, flooding the space with natural light.
The large windows in the cabins slope outward, offering guests the sensation of leaning over a guardrail, looking straight down into the sea.
In the event of additional guests, the study on the upper deck can be converted into a double bedroom, complete with en suite facilities in the adjacent dayhead.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel MTU (12V 2000 M70) 1,055hp engines, motor yacht Sport is capable of reaching a top speed of 14 knots, and comfortably cruises at 12 knots. With her 10,567 gallon fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 2,600 nautical miles at 12 knots.
