Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 11.65m beam and a 3.8m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 1,306 GT (Gross Tonnes).

The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards.

Exterior Design

The exterior lines of Nectar were crafted to achieve a low profile with a traditional sweeping sheer and a long foredeck, giving her a distinct, sleek appearance that is instantly recognizable and highly admired.

Nectar's exterior design also boasts several special features, including a new full-width forward tender stowage, a dynamic positioning system that includes a rotating stern thruster in addition to the usual bow thruster, and a new environmentally friendly sewage treatment plant. These features not only enhance the yacht's functionality but also contribute to her modern, sophisticated appeal.

The tenders stowed forward free up the aft lazarette for toys and equipment, strengthening the yacht's versatility. The engine room is centrally placed, allowing for the five guest cabins to be positioned aft and the crew quarters forward. This strategic layout ensures minimal movement in the guest cabins, enhancing comfort during voyages.

Nectar's decks are another highlight of her exterior design. The sun deck stretches along the top of the superstructure, offering an expansive area for relaxation and entertainment. It features a forward-end spa pool that can be cooled as well as heated, flanked by sun pads. Under the radar arch, the deck provides a bar and food service area, sheltered from the wind by glass doors and shaded from the sun.

The upper deck has a more sophisticated atmosphere, often utilized for alfresco dining. It includes an elegant round table that can be extended to accommodate 12 guests, with small movable tables in the aft corners of the deck for intimate gatherings. Other facilities on the upper deck include a barbecue on the port side and a buffet to starboard.

The main deck aft leads down to the lazarette, where another round table is well sheltered when Nectar is at anchor. The large transom flap drops down to create a platform for boarding boats and giving access to the water, offering both aesthetic and practical benefits.

Nectar's exterior design, characterized by its unique lines, advanced features, and thoughtful layout, reflects Feadship's commitment to delivering a yacht that is not only visually impressive but also tailored to the owners' specific requirements and lifestyle.

Interior Design

One of the standout features of Nectar's interior is its unique color scheme. Inspired by the Disdale style for yachts such as Thunder Gulch, of the Tigre d'Or series, the owners decided to go with a design that incorporated more color than usual. This can be seen in the two twin and three double guest cabins, each of which has its keynote shade: aquamarine, raspberry, gold, coral, and peppermint. This subtle and sophisticated use of color adds a unique character to each room.

While the color scheme is eye-catching, it is the furniture that truly elevates the interior design to another level. From the large glass-topped table in the dining room to the antique mahogany writing table in the main saloon, each piece has been carefully selected to create a harmonious blend of style and comfort. The addition of special fittings and some lovely antique furniture further enhances the sense of luxury and sophistication.

The main saloon, with its elegant pale oak paneling, cream and gold upholstered sofas, and a pair of large coffee tables with marble tops on ormolu supports, exudes a peaceful and elegant atmosphere. A dark lacquer and gold sideboard that conceals a pop-up television adds a classical touch to the space.

The upper saloon, with its airy feeling when the curved double glass doors slide open to combine the saloon and deck into one large space, is another highlight of the yacht's interior. With the doors and curtains closed and the bar in full swing, the room takes on a comfortable and clubby atmosphere. A trophy cabinet reveals the owner's sporting interests, and a specially designed round table with coral branches set into its top is available for card or board games.

Accommodation

Nectar can accommodate a total of 12 guests in one of the five well-appointed guest cabins, each situated at the aft of the yacht. This placement ensures minimal movement, providing a peaceful and comfortable stay. Despite the cabins not being in immediate proximity of the crew area, a well-thought-out system of service access ensures that the crew can reach any point without disturbing the guests.

Each of the five guest cabins is distinct, featuring its unique keynote shade: aquamarine, raspberry, gold, coral, and peppermint. The subtle use of these colors adds a sophisticated character to the rooms, providing a calming ambiance. Each cabin also comes with its ensuite, equipped with individually selected marble, and some even include full-sized baths.

In the owner's suite, the conventional study is replaced by a small sitting room furnished with a comfortable U-shaped sofa and easy chairs, television, computer station, and a desk on the window side. Beyond this is the full-beam cabin, which exudes a sense of graciousness thanks to the calm, unfussy style and considerable area of open space. The keynote color here is lilac, a particular favorite of the owners, which is used sparingly but effectively for fabrics and glass and has even been subtly added to the gold leaf. This feature is continued in the guest cabins with different shades and silver leaf.

The owner's suite also features a bathroom with a large bath, twinned with a shower room, meeting at a central dressing room lined with mirrors that conceal wardrobes and drawers. Custom-made taps and fittings – gold-plated in 'hers' and chromed in 'his' – and a gently warmed marble floor that has been lightly shot-blasted to give it a non-slip finish add to the suite's sumptuousness.

Nectar also provides excellent accommodation for its crew. The crew quarters are located forward, ensuring that they are able to cater to the needs of the guests efficiently and effectively. The yacht can comfortably accommodate a crew of 18, providing them with spacious quarters. This is an essential feature for a yacht that remains in full commission for months at a time and is used for both private and charter use.

Performance & Capabilities

Nectar is powered bya pair of robust Caterpillar 3516B diesel engines. These enable the yacht to deliver a top speed of 16 knots. For those who prefer a leisurely cruise, a speed of 12 knots offers an impressive range of 3,500 nautical miles, providing ample scope for extended voyages without the need for frequent refueling.

Nectar's technical prowess goes beyond her impressive speed and range. The yacht is equipped with a dynamic positioning system, incorporating a rotating stern thruster in addition to the usual bow thruster. This advanced system allows for precise maneuverability and exceptional stability, even in challenging sea conditions.

Feadship has also made a conscious effort to incorporate environmentally-friendly technologies on Nectar. The yacht houses a new sewage treatment plant, similar to those installed on cruise ships. This advanced system is in line with Feadship's commitment to reducing the environmental impact of their luxury yachts.

Nectar combines advanced performance capabilities with innovative mechanical features, embodying Feadship's commitment to excellence in yacht design and construction.

Amenities

The yacht features a well-equipped gym, allowing her guests to keep up their fitness regimes at sea. An elevator makes the yacht fully-accessible, while air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort. Nectar also features a deck jacuzzi for cooling off.
