Key Features

  • Efficient fishing cockpit
  • Spacious captain and crew quarters
  • Luxurious interior with tiger-themed decor
  • Enclosed pilothouse

Design & Construction

Designed around a semi-displacement fiberglass hull and a GRP superstructure she features a 6.4m beam and a 1.62m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 115 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Exterior Design

The exterior design of the yacht Tigress reflects its intended purpose as a sportfishing vessel with long-range cruising capabilities. Built with an Ed Monk, Jr. designed hull, the yacht employs Airex-cored fiberglass construction, offering durability and strength. The superstructure was crafted using one-off molds with Klegecell coring, providing a sturdy yet lightweight frame.

The fishing cockpit is a central focus, designed for efficiency with a teak floor, twin 200-gallon bait wells, a complete tackle and bait prep area, a Gaggenau grill/barbecue, and a flash freezer under the sole. A Rybovich fighting chair is stored on the boat deck and can be conveniently lowered into place by a tender crane, keeping the area open for stand-up fishing or social gatherings.

The "California deck" is positioned under the bridge overhang, offering guests a place to observe the fishing action without interference. The deck includes a fold-out sleeper sofa, a wet bar, and a U-shaped dinette. The compact day head with a shower is located to starboard, ensuring that the interior remains clean and comfortable.

The enclosed pilothouse is designed for extended voyages, equipped with large windows for visibility and a range of navigation and communication electronics. These include twin Furuno radar systems, twin Northstar GPS units, and a Simrad/Robertson autopilot, all linked to a custom seven-station Mathers Clear Command system. Additional features include a Furuno searchlight sonar and video sounder for fish tracking and weather monitoring systems.

On the boat deck, Tigress carries two Nautica tenders and an 8-man survival raft, managed by a 2,000 lb hydraulic crane by Steelhead Marine.

Interior Design

The interior features a blend of birdseye and solid maple complemented by quarter-sawn sycamore. These materials contribute to a light and airy atmosphere throughout the yacht.

The saloon is thoughtfully arranged to maximize space. It includes an L-shaped couch to port and an entertainment center with a pop-up 32-inch television to starboard. Large windows in the saloon provide ample natural light and views, enhancing the sense of space.

Moving forward, the galley is separated from the saloon by a breakfast bar with four stools. It is designed for practicality with Avonite faux marble counters and a range of appliances, including a G.E. side-by-side refrigerator-freezer and a Gaggenau electric stove. Despite its compact size, the galley is equipped with essential features such as a hidden spice area and twin pantry closets.

The dining area is situated forward and up four steps from the galley, featuring a solid marble table surrounded by six cherrywood chairs. Large windows offer panoramic views, while maple buffets provide additional storage.

The enclosed pilothouse serves as the primary living area while underway. It is equipped with a coffee maker and microwave for convenience. The electronics are built into the raised dash, offering advanced navigation and communication tools. Behind the dash are a pair of Stidd helm chairs. A day head is located aft to starboard, and a sleeper settee with a table is elevated to port. For additional functionality, a drop-down chart table and drawers for paper charts are available.

Accommodation

Tigress offers accommodation for guests with a focus on comfort and functionality. The yacht features a full-width master stateroom, designed with a king-size bed, twin Karadon nightstands, and a love seat. This master suite is complemented by a large vanity with a sink and a compact master head, featuring a maple floor and a sunken shower.

The yacht also includes two mirrored guest staterooms, each equipped with a queen-size bed and Karadon headboard. These staterooms come with cedar-lined hanging lockers, maple vanities with tiger-upholstered stools, and entertainment centers. The guest en suites provide Karadon sinks and lighted showers.

For the crew of up to three, there are spacious quarters located forward. These quarters are designed with an overlapped full bed above a settee bed, an entertainment center, a desk area, and a head with a shower, ensuring that the crew can operate efficiently and comfortably during extended voyages.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (3408) engines, motor yacht Tigress is capable of reaching a top speed of 20 knots, and comfortably cruises at 15 knots. With her 17,032 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 2,500 nautical miles at 10 knots. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.
