This is a go-anywhere semi-displacement trawler yacht with impressively long range, good fuel economy, roomy accommodation and a surprising turn of speed.

Unlike previous models, this is a lightweight, semi-displacement yacht with an epoxy-vinylester hull and a carbon fibre deck and superstructure. It offers a remarkable combination of performance, stability and good handling in heavy weather. This model is available in either flybridge or skylounge configurations, with or without an aft cabin under the cockpit sole.

Interior

It’s notably roomy for its size with a large open-plan salon designed for entertaining and luxurious staterooms down below. The standard interior design scheme has the feel of a traditional yacht club, due to the extensive use of dark hardwood veneer on the pre-preg carbon panels and composite structures that make up the hull sides, bulkheads and furniture. That said, with extensive scope for customisation and a wide choice of layout options, no two boats are the same.

Exterior

The Grand Banks 60 shares a distinctive, classic look with its iconic forebears. The tall superstructure is surrounded by chunky, traditional-style bulwarks and handrails. There’s built-in stowage for a tender on the flybridge, with its own dedicated crane.

This yacht offers a remarkable combination of 36-knot performance; an impressively comfortable ride in heavy weather, even at relatively high speed; a cruising range of 2,500 miles at 10 knots; excellent fuel economy of 29 gallons per hour at 20 knots; and good stability at slow speeds and at anchor.

The GB60 uses fully infused carbon fiber in the superstructure and other strategic locations for added strength and weight reduction. This allows for a much lower center of gravity that improves stability and seakeeping. Throughout the yacht, 100% vinylester resins and cross-linked Corecell™ foam core contribute to an ideal powerto-weight ratio and enhance durability. Finally, mechanical systems are designed for reliability and simplicity—two equally important objectives on a long range cruiser.
