After 200 hulls Back Cove 37 to finally bow out

Back Cove Yachts’ popular model is set to be replaced by the new and improved Back Cove 372.

After over a decade in production and with more than 200 hulls on the water, Back Cove Yachts is relaunching its Back Cove 37 as the 372.

The model was so popular that, when the moulds used to make it wore out, the Maine-based shipyard decided to use customer feedback and advances in technology to redesign it and incorporate new features and enhancements. The resulting 12.8m (42.8ft) Back Cove 372 will launch in the fall.

While the Back Cove 372 retains largely the same layout as the Back Cove 37, the numerous and highly-considered changes reflect the practical nature of the Owner feedback. These include a more efficient electrical system, a black windshield liner and upholstered helm pod to reduce glare, fixed glazed windows to replace sliding windows for improved visibility, a fixed aft-facing seat with folding armrest with drink holder, a new port deck salon door and bi-fold window to starboard, a reconfigured head and redesigned shower stall and optional teak cockpit tables.

Kevin Burns, VP of Product Development and Design for Back Cove Yachts, says: “The Back Cove team gathered together to apply all of our “pent up” good ideas and recognized that the resulting boat really deserved its own designation – enter the 372. The Back Cove 372 is full of fresh details that are tailored to today’s cruising and boating lifestyles, yet it retains the classic character and heart of a proven winner.”

The inboard-powered cruising yacht is expected to make her boat show debut at the United States Powerboat Show in October 2021.

Primarily designed as a day cruiser, a cabin with a queen-sized berth and separate means the Back Cove 372 also serves as a weekending boat.
