Amels and Damen Yachting's latest Amels 242 superyacht, 74m (243ft) support yacht Shadow, has emerged from her drydock as she prepares for her delivery later this year.
The 1,790GT yacht is now in the final stages of outfitting and features a number of personalized requests from her new Owner, the most immediately obvious is her eye-catching Ice Blue colored hull.
Inside she features custom interiors from London-based Winch Design which includes a dedicated Owner’s deck of 240 square meters (2,583 sq. ft) with a hot tub fully forward. Elsewhere there are three guest staterooms below deck and two voluminous VIP suites on the main deck to provide accommodation for up to 12 guests.
As with the five other Amels 242 yachts in its fleet, the exterior design comes courtesy of Tim Heywood with her slightly sporty aesthetic accentuating the long curves of her bridge wing stations.
Project Shadow also features a fold-out swim platform aft, a 6.5m (21.3ft) infinity pool and an increased capacity helicopter deck.
The propulsion package is designed to the latest IMO Tier III emissions standards, with the superyacht having an extensive cruising range of 5,000nm at 12.5 knots and a top speed of 16.5 knots.
Project Shadow is the sixth hull of its Amels 242 and follows motor yacht SYNTHESIS which was delivered at the start of 2021. The model traces its roots back to 2016 when the first Amels 242, motor yacht PLVS UVLTRA, became one of the largest ever Dutch-built superyachts upon her delivery.
The Amels 242 is part of the popular Limited Editions range, of which more than 40 yachts have been delivered since 2007. The range has proved particularly popular as it offers a blend of custom and platform techniques that can reduce delivery time from several years to just a few months.
