The eyes of the yachting world once again returned to the Italian shipyard at Livorno as Benetti successfully launched the second of three yachts of their prestigious Gigayachts. Constructed to fully comply with the Passenger Yacht Code (PYC), the 100-meter gigayacht has been developed to a very specific set of requirements with vast input from the owner's resources.
Following on from the launch of the first Benetti gigayacht, the FB 277, less than two months ago Benetti has managed to impress the industry by once again proving how spectacular their motor yacht building capacity really is.
Designed in collaboration with several prestigious teams, the FB 272, one of the world's biggest yachts, features design work from Benetti Group designer Giorgio Cassetta, Azure Naval Architects, Zaniz Interiors, and Reymond Langton Design. Combined with 100 different Italian suppliers for materials and more than two million hours of labor, the remarkable FB 272 demonstrates the traditions of the brand by keeping to the 'Made In Italy' ethos.
Sporting an impressive 17-meter beam, the six-deck yacht features a state-of-the-art propulsion system built by some of the biggest names in the industry, like Caterpillar and Seastema.
The hybrid propulsion system and diesel-electric engines are paired up with two Azipod propulsion units, which all contribute to the smooth and enjoyable cruising experience onboard. Courtesy of the owner, a special battery pack is a key feature of the engine room, enabling the gigayacht to travel in silence with vibration-free navigation.
This iconic project has had a huge impact on local industry and, after more than 2 million hours of skilled work from over 100 suppliers, we can truly pronounce her as a wonderful achievement for Livorno and the “Made In Italy” ethos as a whole."

Life onboard the FB 272 is spacious, relaxing, and indulgent. Embarking has been made simple and convenient thanks to a fully certified helipad which guests can also use to explore destinations at each port of call.
Exteriors offer plenty of options for guests to unwind and enjoy the breezy sea air with a large foredeck offering the ultimate vantage point, complete with al fresco dining and a relaxing seating area. Shaded and sheltered areas accommodate guests needing a break from the sun, plus a private deck for seclusion and quiet time.
Socialising onboard is well catered for with spacious dining and seating areas throughout the main deck. Extensive glazing measuring up to three meters high provides an abundance of natural light to further accentuate the feeling of space, totaling a remarkable stretch of 800 square meters of window glass.
