Boot Dusseldorf closes on a high after long awaited return

The 2023 edition of Boot Dusseldorf has closed its doors on what can only be described as a phenomenal return to the yachting calendar.

After a long three-year lay-off, Boot Dusseldorf finally made its majestic return and YachtBuyer was on the ground to capture all the action.

Reporting a footfall just short of 237,000, Boot Dusseldorf returned with a bang and demonstrated it was still a fundamental part of the yachting industry despite its long absence.

The international appeal of yachting has soared since the last edition in 2020, resulting in visitors attending from over 100 countries and an impressive 1,500 exhibitors on display from 68 nations throughout the exhibition halls.

We would not have dreamt of this outcome, boot has finally reached calm waters and is once again firmly anchored in its Düsseldorf home port.

The last edition in 2020 witnessed a brand new motoryacht layout for boot, and reflecting on its success before, the show organizers kept the new layout to ensure that all visitors had a smooth and seamless flow throughout the show.

A mixture of shipyards attended the event this year including the likes of Sunseeker, Princess, Jeanneau and Bavaria with Karsten Stahlhut, V. Managing Director of the German Marine Federation, commenting they "started the trade fair with mixed feelings. However, for most, expectations were not only met, but exceeded in every respect."

Making its debut at the 2023 edition, the new blue innovation dock featured 110 different speakers throughout the exhibition, covering a range of topics including the development of sustainable materials and the importance of sustainability for water sports. The new addition proved to be incredibly popular and is almost certainly to become a staple side attraction of the established event.

Scheduled to return 20-28 January 2024, boot Dusseldorf has set the mark for a great year in yachting. Start planning ahead to next year by viewing the YachtBuyer guide to Boot Dusseldorf 2024.
