Following on from a soft launch a few weeks ago, the development team behind the new Connecticut marina announced the official opening plus a string of events throughout the year to promote the brand-new development that is suitable for some of the world's biggest yachts.
Providing a location which is just 60 miles from New York City and around 120 miles from Newport, one of the main selling points of the Bridgeport Harbour Marina is the fact it can berth yachts up to 76 metres.
Given the LOA of megayachts for sale can be accommodated, it comes as no surprise that yachts with a deep draft can also make use of the berths, with an approach depth of 3.7 metres.
Situated within a new development area known as Steelpointe Harbour, the new megayacht marina will also benefit from the additional amenities of coffee shops, premium retailers, oyster restaurants and an on-site repair and maintenance firm.
With fuelling services expected to be made available later in 2020, the marina is already offering complimentary hand or golf carts with controlled-access gangways, accompanied with round the clock on-site security.
In a bid to advertise the new development for megayachts, there are two yachting events planned. Starting off with an invitation-only Steelepointe Yacht & Charter Show in June. Currently scheduled to run between the 19-21, the preliminary details indicate a display of prestigious yachts and cars, with the addition of live music and a social calendar.
Moving to the latter end of 2020, the Steelpointe International Boat Show, running from September 24-27, has been announced for the same time as the Newport International Boat Show, to accommodate yachts too large for the Newport event.
With its capacity for some of the world's largest yachts, the new Bridgeport Harbour Marina looks set to become a haven for exploring previously off-the-map destinations. If you are thinking about making the most of the new marina, see all of the new and used yachts for sale.
