Heesen lays keel of high-performance Project SkyFall superyacht

The 59m (193.5’) superyacht is being constructed in Oss and will have an impressive 37-knot top speed and aluminium hull.

Heesen has laid the keel of superyacht Project SkyFall in a ceremony on 1st October.

A representative of the custom-built motor yacht’s Owner was present, putting a 450 BC Greek coin on the keel to commemorate the start of building.

The Dutch shipyard has long been known for creating high-speed and high-performance superyachts, but this one is slated to be the cream of its crop. Four engines will give Project SkyFall a total of 22,000hp – considerably more power than on many yachts available to buy – and an impressive top speed of 37 knots.

When built, Project SkyFall will be 59m (193.5') long.

Her full displacement hull is made of lightweight aluminium (unlike the usual steel build) and the draft is less than 3m (10’), which reduces vibration by 40% when compared to more traditional shafts and propellers.

At 59m (193.5’), Project SkyFall will be considerably longer than most Heesen yachts for sale, which average at 52m (170.5’), and the shipyard has grand plans for all that space. The Owner’s cabin will take up the entire aft section of the bridge deck. It will even get its own private terrace with a spa and communal seating area.

Project SkyFall will be finished and delivered to her Owner in 2023.

She will accommodate up to ten guests. The four additional cabins will all be found below deck. Plus, there’ll be a tender garage for a wide array of tenders and watertoys. The stern will have a beach club with a wellness area, a ‘fishing cave’ (with stowage for up to forty rods) and a multitiered swim deck.

Project SkyFall will be completed and delivered to her Owner in 2023. Although she’s being custom-built, you can get your hands on something similarly spacious and extravagant by browsing superyachts for sale.
