High-speed 40m superyacht concept inspired by Bugatti unveiled

Italian designer Pierpaolo Lazzarini has unveiled the 40m Xenos, which aims to be the fastest superyacht in the world in its class.

The bullet shaped yacht concept is inspired by French car manufacturer Bugatti, and comes with a Bugatti Chiron included in the price. In keeping with the sporty nature of the super cars, Xenos will be able to reach a top speed of up to 90 knots.

Made from aluminium and carbon, the design of Xenos is very much futuristic and aimed at comfortable, high speed rides.

Renewable energy company Architaly has integrated a solar system into the roof, which gives the superyacht up to eight hours of autonomy in electric sail mode. Photochromic windows, that change transparency depending on the light, line the exterior.

A number of propulsion packages are available - including twin, triple or quadruple CAT engines. They range from 7,300hp to 15,000hp, and will give Xenos an estimated top speed of 90 knots, which would be a world record for a yacht of this size.

Xenos will be available in two versions, as the private recreational hyperyacht or as the transportation ‘Seajet Piercer’ version, which can carry a total of 180 people.

The hyperyacht version features a deck lounge, Jacuzzi and a spacious garage to the aft that can store water toys and the Bugatti supercar. An adjustable bridge allows easily loading and unloading of the car. Down below Xenos has three spacious cabin, a galley and a saloon.

Xenos is one of a number of interesting design concepts in the pipeline in the superyachting industry. Equally eyecatching is the aviation inspired Codecasa Jet 2020. The jumbo jet styled superyacht is in construction and is set to become Codecasa’s flagship model when it is launched.
