Classical Latin elegance and Italian marble are the key features in the newly unveiled interior design concept for Mengi Yay Yachts Virtus 47m (154ft) series.
Former Benetti interior designer Leonardo Santi has revealed the concept, called Elegantiae, which will form the basis of the interiors on the new superyacht line.
Another key concept of the design concept is the use of light, as Santi states “Lights are an essential part of my design”. Metal frames of different shapes appear throughout, as do alternating long and short LED strips. Elsewhere the table lamps strike an artistic purpose, resembling sculptures.
The marble has been carefully chosen with the famed Tuscan city of Carrara being extensively used, with subtle woods, fabrics and lighting framing its rich tones.
Turkish yard Mengi-Yay announced recently that the first two hulls of its 47m (154ft) Virtus series had been sold. The sub-500GT model comes with expansive leisure spaces that include a large sky lounge and a beach club with transom and side openings.
Accommodation is offered for ten guests across five cabins, and her twin 1,450hp Caterpillar C32 diesel engines give a top speed of 14.5 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots.
The first two hulls are expected to be delivered in 2022 and a third hull is currently in build.
According to YachtBuyer Intelligence Mengi Yay Yachts has delivered more than 32 yachts in the past 15 years with an average length of 34m (111.5ft).
