Renowned Finnish sailing yacht builder Nautor Swan has announced it is moving into the motor yacht market with its new 13.2m (43ft) Swan Shadow boat.
The Swan Shadow is a multi-purpose chase boat that takes many features from the yard’s sailing yachts, including a high-performing design and a top speed of up to 55 knots. With two cabins, the Shadow offers dayboating or weekending options for guests looking to get away from the mothership.
Nautor Swan’s President Leonardo Ferragamo explains the move into this sector is something the company had been considering for a while, saying: “For so many years we’ve been thinking about launching a powerboat, but we always resisted this temptation until we really felt we had something really special and unique to present. And this is what is happening with Swan Shadow. She is full of the ingredients we believe in, and we are confident that we are going to make an important statement in the power yacht segment”.
The new chase boat will feature a movable aft platform, allowing both better access to the water and easier access to the dock when the vessel is being used as a tender. Optional telescopic roof pillars and moving glass panels will create a convertible cabin and give the ability for the boat to be used either fully open or closed for more privacy and comfort during bad weather.
A truly customizable boat, the Swan Shadow will also feature several different deck layouts and roof options and generous storage is built-in under deck.
