Pearl Yachts off to a flying 2021 start

With contracts signed for four new yachts and five further builds handed over to new Owners the yard says it has “never been busier”.

Pearl Yachts has become the latest shipyard to announce a busy first quarter to the year despite the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.

The British-builder has recorded strong sales and deliveries, with four new-boat contracts signed since the new year and a further five new Pearl yachts handed over to Owners. This follows the news from Ferretti Group yesterday that it had reported a revenue increase of 40% and a record number of launches in the first three months of the year.

Contracts have been signed for a Pearl 95, two Pearl 80s and a Pearl 62 and they will be dotted around the globe. The Pearl 95 has been sold to an American Owner based in Miami, Florida with the two Pearl 80s going to Palma and Montenegro. The Pearl 62 will be ready to be exhibited at Boot Dusseldorf in 2022.

In terms of the yachts delivered to new Owners, a Pearl 95 has also gone to Palma and four Pearl 62s have headed to France, the USA and two to British based owners.

“Despite the pandemic, Pearl Yachts has never been busier,” says Managing Director Iain Smallridge. “There are several reasons why we are experiencing record sales. First and foremost, our model range and designs are so strong, thanks to Bill Dixon’s immensely experienced studio, which is responsible for all the exterior lines, naval architecture and space planning, and our stunning and award-winning Kelly Hoppen interiors. In addition, every Pearl model has several unique features, which makes them really stand out from the crowd. Pearl’s high build-quality and keen pricing means we make most owners shortlists.”

Despite the coronavirus pandemic many shipyards are reporting an increase in sales figures as the industry continues to adapt and flourish in light of the challenges brought about by COVID19. Just yesterday the Ferretti Group reported an increase in first quarter revenue from €133million to €186million, whilst a number of other yards have noted strong ends to 2020 and promising starts to 2021. At the end of last year Sanlorenzo revealed it had exceeded its 2019 deliveries by October 2020, for Nordhavn 2020 was its busiest and most successful year in brokerage sales, whilst Ocean Alexander and Horizon also recorded strong years with a growing number of boats in build.

Pearl Yachts fleet has picked up a number of international awards for clever design and layouts, with the brand also renowned for offering a personal service with strong client involvement. To view its range of semi-custom models on the market you can browse all Pearl Yachts for sale.
