On Deck

The Horizon FD80 is an 80-foot triple-decker yacht with generous exterior spaces. The cockpit area is spacious with a significant overhang, built-in ceiling speakers, a camera system, storage spaces, and a concealed fridge. There's provision for a TV that drops from the ceiling.

The upper deck features a hot tub, another bar area, a barbecue with adjustable height, extensive storage, a tender storage area with crane, and a shaded area with a bimini supported by carbon fibre poles. The foredeck offers another seating area, large sunbathing space, and practical wing stations for improved visibility during manoeuvring. The yacht includes satellite domes, radar antennas, and navigation lights on top. The beach club at water level includes massive hydraulic hinges, a sizeable opening transom, air conditioning, and a seating area, with direct access to the bathing platform even when closed.

Interior Accommodation

Inside, the FD80 has floor-to-ceiling windows providing abundant natural light. The saloon area is open plan with a flexible bar area and an extendable dining table that can fold away when not in use. The galley is fully equipped, including refrigeration units, freezer compartments, a pantry, trash compactor, dishwasher, microwave, and cooking facilities. There's an ice maker and wine cooler adjacent to the bar.

The yacht features a separate utility room, unusual in yachts under 100 feet. The upper deck saloon area includes another bar, a dining area, and an entertainment system, with additional day heads on this level.

Owner's Cabin

The main deck houses the spacious owner's cabin featuring large hull windows, cedar-lined hanging lockers, and subtle wood accents. The ensuite bathroom includes a pocket door for privacy, a separate toilet compartment, and multiple storage options. Engineering access panels are discreetly incorporated for practicality.

Guest Accommodation

The lower deck has a four-cabin layout. Two aft guest cabins feature ensuite bathrooms with pocket doors, spacious accommodations, and thoughtful storage solutions, despite the slight compromise due to stair placement. Another cabin forward has twin beds convertible to a double bed, ample space, and ensuite facilities. All guest cabins have good-sized wardrobes and ensuite bathrooms with showers.

Crew Accommodation

The FD80 provides two crew cabins accommodating up to four crew members. One cabin offers twin single berths, and the other cabin includes additional sleeping space and storage. Crew cabins share a dedicated galley area, complete with cooking facilities, fridge, microwave, sink, and a well-appointed shared bathroom. Engineering and yacht control systems are also accessible from the crew area.

Performance

The engine room houses twin Caterpillar C32A engines, each producing 1600 horsepower, achieving a top speed of around 22 knots and a cruising speed of 18 knots. The yacht can cruise efficiently at approximately 9.5 knots, providing a range of about 1600 nautical miles. The spacious engine room includes air conditioning systems, generators, a Spot Zero water purification system, tool chest, and clearly organised mechanical components.

In Summary

It’s clear that the Horion FD80 stands out for making exceptional use of its 80-foot length. The thoughtful design maximizes both interior and exterior spaces, offering luxurious comfort without noticeable compromises. Highlights include the spacious and functional beach club, versatile upper deck areas, and a notably spacious owner's cabin on the main deck.
