Design & Construction
Designed around a full displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 14.5m beam and a 3.7m draft. The yacht is built over 4 decks with an internal volume of 2,999 GT (Gross Tonnes). The design also incorporates a heli-pad.
The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in November 2016 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in March 2017.
Exterior Design
The superyacht Sophia's exterior styling is the result of a collaboration between British design studio Redman Whiteley Dixon and De Voogt and is a testament to the distinct elegance and sophistication synonymous with the Feadship brand. The yacht boasts a streamlined profile with elegant curves in perfect harmony and proportion. The flared bow, a characteristic feature of Feadship designs, is equipped with a games deck and a helicopter landing pad, complete with a hangar below for a Bell 429 WLG helicopter.
The sweeping hull line of Sophia gracefully leads down and aft towards the main deck, housing a revolutionary swimming pool made of glass panels that form the ceiling allowing light from above to stream into the beach club area below. The pool’s construction involved laminating together five layers of clear glass interspersed with foil, resulting in a 68-millimeter-thick structure. The pool, with a capacity of 42,000 liters, has a dramatic S-curved shape and descends to a depth of 2.5m (8.2ft).
Beneath the pool lies the vast sea-level beach club, which almost doubles in size when the fold-down side terraces and the transom are opened. From the fold-out superyacht beach club below, guests can see up to the sundeck, which features a gymnasium and a pizza oven.
Superyacht Sophia also features a massive 14.5m (47.5ft) beam, which contributes to its total interior volume of 2,999GT. This generous space allocation allows for 90sq/m (9,687sq/ft) of guest areas, ensuring ample space for all on board to relax and enjoy the voyage.
In 2017 Sophia's exterior profile was given a more nautical look by replacing the white-painted window boxes on the main and bridge decks with a walnut-varnished variety.
Interior Design
Sophia's interiors are a graceful blend of luxury, comfort, and innovation. Crafted meticulously by Chahan Interior Design and RWD, the aesthetic endears itself to a classic nautical style, bathing in warm wooden surroundings. The soft white textiles scattered with accents of royal blue add a touch of elegance.
Sophia's interior décor is about relaxed sophistication but also about creating spaces that are functional and inviting. The main deck, for instance, is home to a cinema and serves as a prime location for the guest accommodation section, a hairdressing salon, and a dedicated pantry. The bridge deck above houses two staff cabins, which can be converted into guest suites if needed, and offers a combined guest accommodation space of 900sq/m (9,687sq/ft).
Sophia's interior design also showcases innovative elements, such as the double-sided fireplace in limestone and quartz and decorative glass screens that separate the main lounge from the dining area forward. The floating staircase, which combines stainless steel, multi-textured stone, and blue leather with a wealth of lighting, is a testament to the level of detail that has gone into the design of this yacht.
Accommodation
The yacht Sophia can comfortably host up to 18 guests through its spacious cabins. The layout includes a master suite, two VIP cabins, four double cabins, and two convertible rooms, providing flexible accommodation options for guests.
The master suite is a standout feature, located on the main deck and offering spectacular 180-degree views out to sea. Further enhancing the room's features is a 3m (9.8ft) high skylight directly above the double bed allowing guests to sleep 'under the stars'. The private owner's deck features a fireplace inside and a firepit outside, in addition to a private lounge with a home cinema.
The VIP cabins continue the trend of comfort seen throughout the yacht. Sophia's four double cabins offer plush accommodations. For larger parties or situations requiring more flexible sleeping arrangements, Sophia also includes two convertible rooms. These spaces can easily transition to meet the needs of guests, providing the versatility necessary for a luxury yacht of this stature.
In addition to the guest accommodations, Sophia's also provides ample space for up to 32 crew members. This ensures every need of the guests can be catered to, and the yacht operates smoothly.

Powered by twin diesel MTU (16V 4000 M63L) 3,004hp engines running at 1800rpm, motor yacht Sophia is capable of reaching a top speed of 17 knots, and comfortably cruises at 15 knots. With her 264,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 5,000 nautical miles at 12 knots.
