Design & Construction

Designed around a semi-displacement aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 8.15m beam and a 1.75m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 395 GT (Gross Tonnes).

This was the first yacht built on the Sport 40 MT Hybrid design. She was delivered to her owners in September 2013.

Exterior Design

Designed by Sergio Cutolo of Hydro Tec, the yacht's modern, muscular lines are underscored by a striking silver and white paint scheme. This color palette not only accentuates the yacht's sporty aesthetics but also reflects her standing as a cutting-edge, 21st-century vessel.

A noteworthy feature of Leudin I's design is her hard chine semi-displacement hull with a modified axe bow. This choice not only contributes to the yacht's dynamic profile but also enhances her seaworthiness. Although the vertical bow primarily serves an aesthetic purpose, it offers certain advantages in terms of waterline length and efficiency. Careful attention has been paid to ensure that issues such as spray are mitigated, and the yacht has proven to maintain a dry deck even in windy conditions, speaking to the thoroughness of her design and testing.

Onboard, guests are invited to enjoy the aft sun deck, which boasts elegant sunpads and a convivial bar area—perfect for soaking in the sun or indulging in a refreshing cocktail. This space, much like the rest of the exterior, is designed to provide maximum outdoor living pleasure, complemented by the upper saloon's compact layout to prioritize expansive alfresco experiences.

Further enhancing the yacht's connection with the environment is the foredeck, where privacy and luxury converge. A sunpad and spa pool offer secluded relaxation, especially when the yacht is moored stern-to, allowing guests to unwind in a private oasis while taking in the panoramic views.

The stern of Leudin I features the yacht's signature curved sun loungers and a fold-out bathing platform, inviting guests to bask in the warmth of the sun or dive into the cool ocean waters. The practical yet elegant design of the swimming platform ensures seamless access to the sea, aligning with the yacht's overall philosophy of harmonizing with the natural world.

Leudin I has demonstrated that luxury and performance can go hand-in-hand with environmental stewardship. The yacht is not only a marvel of design and comfort but also a leader in sustainable maritime technology, offering a glimpse into the future of responsible yachting.

Interior Design

Throughout Leudin I, guests will find the use of pale-stained tay, also known as koto, and rich American walnut as the standard veneers, harmoniously adorning most surfaces. These choices are not only aesthetically pleasing but also environmentally sound, as all woods are Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified, stemming from trees with a high growth rate. This commitment to sustainability is further exemplified by the use of water-based paints devoid of aggressive chemicals, and marbles that are thinly sliced to a mere four millimeters, mounted on recycled aluminum honeycomb, ensuring a lighter environmental footprint.

The main saloon is a marvel of modern design and technological innovation. The space is bright and open, with large windows that stretch from thigh to head height, providing unobstructed views of the ocean expanse. In a remarkable feat of engineering, transparent bulwarks function much like windscreens, eliminating any visual barriers between guests and the sea. The nearly three-meter-wide French windows open to reveal fold-down balconies, enhancing the sensation of floating on the water.

Hot Lab's design philosophy is evident in every aspect of the yacht's interior, from the subtle variations in ceiling panels that distinguish each deck to the custom-designed furniture that carries the studio's signature. The selection of loose furniture by renowned brands like Moroso and Poltrona Frau in the saloons and Paola Lenti, Magis, and Fulvia Tissi for the exterior, adds layers of sophistication and comfort.

Accommodation

Leudin I can graciously accommodate 10 guests in 5 suites, ensuring exclusivity and privacy for all on board.

In the master suite, located on the main deck, guests are greeted with a sanctuary of calm. It features an office, a seating area, a dressing room, and a spacious ensuite complete with a double shower and bath. The suite is a haven of relaxation, where the interior design's dedication to a natural connection is most palpable. Textured wood on cabinet doors and a carefully selected color palette reinforce the yacht's eco-friendly narrative while ensuring a luxurious experience.

Leudin I's accommodation versatility is highlighted in the lower deck's layout. The yacht features a highly flexible cabin configuration where two aft guest cabins can be transformed into a lavish full-beam VIP suite with his-and-hers ensuites. This ingenious design allows for the wall separating the two cabins to be slid away, and one of the beds to be neatly folded into the wall, thus creating a spacious and luxurious environment for VIP guests.

In addition to the owner's suite and the convertible VIP suite, there are two more standard ensuite guest cabins located forward on the lower deck. These cabins are designed to provide comfort and privacy, ensuring that all guests enjoy their stay in an intimate, serene setting.

The crew accommodation for up to 7 has also been given significant consideration to ensure that the team can perform their duties to the highest standards while enjoying their own comfortable and well-appointed living spaces. The main-deck galley and lower-deck crew mess are both spacious and feature high-quality finishes and ample headroom, emphasizing the importance placed on the well-being of the crew. Thoughtful design extends to the access points between crew and guest areas, which have been strategically placed to maintain the smooth operation of the yacht and the privacy of guests.

Performance & Capabilities

At the heart of Leudin I's mechanical prowess is a hybrid propulsion system that combines two diesel Siemens engines with two electric motors. The diesel engines are the primary source of power, offering a top speed of 22 knots. Remarkably, even at this speed, the hull design ensures maximum fuel efficiency, keeping total consumption under 150 liters per hour when cruising at a comfortable pace of 14 knots.

In electric mode, Leudin I transforms into a vessel of silence and efficiency. The diesel engines are shut down, and the yacht is powered by three generators that energize the electric motors, each capable of producing 75 kilowatts. This mode allows for a cruising speed of 7.5 knots while consuming a mere 50 liters per hour, significantly reducing the yacht's environmental footprint.

The hybrid system also includes shaft generator mode, wherein the main engines not only propel the yacht but also generate electrical power for on-board systems. This mode allows for the shutting down of diesel generators, further conserving fuel and minimizing emissions, thus promoting eco-friendly operations while cruising.

Leudin I's commitment to comfort is evident through the integration of state-of-the-art stabilizers that ensure a smooth sailing experience. The yacht's electric mode further contributes to this tranquility with its ultra-quiet running, thanks to soundproof cases surrounding the generators. As a result, guests can enjoy a serene ambiance with a sound level of just 40 decibels in the cabins while underway, accompanied by virtually zero vibration.

The innovation of Leudin I does not go unnoticed, as it has been awarded the Environmental Protection Award at the 2014 ShowBoats Design Awards. Its eco-friendly design is further validated by the classification society RINA, which has granted the yacht a Green Star Plus certification for its environmental credentials and a newly created Hybrid Propulsion notation for its unique power system.

Leudin I's interior is more than just a space—it's a statement. It reflects a harmonious balance between high-end luxury and a profound respect for the environment, ensuring that guests can indulge in the opulence of yachting while contributing to the preservation of our oceans.

Amenities

Leudin I also features a deck jacuzzi for cooling off and an inviting spread of sunpads.
