Design & Construction
Designed around a semi-displacement aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 8.8m beam and a 1.85m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 499 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in late 2011 with the keel laid under the project name 'Prince Shark'. This was the first yacht built on the Prince Shark design. Launched in March 2013 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in May 2013.
Exterior Design
Param Jamuna IV features an exterior design that emphasizes sleek, aerodynamic lines. The yacht's bow has a pronounced rake, complemented by a white hull and a superstructure with a black boot stripe. A key aspect of its design is the three-deck structure, which remains below 500 GRT, allowing for efficient cruising at approximately 20 knots. The construction utilizes aluminum, highlighting the shipyard's expertise in handling this material.
The external areas of Param Jamuna IV are generous and well-planned. The main aft deck includes a large dining table near the transom, crafted with teak, glass, and steel, and accented by recessed lighting around the yacht's perimeter. The upper deck provides a full-beam living area with a large divan, while the bow offers a relaxation area with sunpads.
The sundeck is notably expansive, covering over 90 square meters and divided into three sections. The stern features sunloungers and a large sunbed; the center has a U-shaped divan with tables that can form a large alfresco dining area opposite a conversation space; the bow includes an observation divan and a bar unit. The adjustable hardtop over the dining area allows for variable light and air.
Additionally, the yacht offers a beach club area at the stern, with a platform that can be raised or lowered for easy water access. The design combines functionality and style, ensuring a comfortable experience for guests.
Interior Design
The design team, led by Enrico Gobbi of Team for Design, has employed a consistent color scheme throughout the yacht Param Jamuna IV's interior spaces, creating a cohesive and fluid environment.
Natural materials are prominently featured, with the use of Emperador marble on the principal floors, complemented by opaque, bleached oak for the furniture. This combination of materials provides a chiaroscuro effect, adding depth and texture to the interior spaces. The furniture in the lounges and saloons contrasts with darker wengé wood, while light oak and capitonné leather are used for additional elements, offering a balanced and understated aesthetic.
The lighting system is a key aspect of the yacht's interior. It combines natural and artificial light to enhance the available space and contribute to guest comfort. Indirect lighting techniques have been utilized architecturally to create varied effects, from a soft flood of illumination to a more muted, matte finish on surfaces.
The main saloon is equipped with a large TV that can swivel to serve both the saloon and the dining area. This space, along with other lounges, is designed to be multifunctional, with part of the upper saloon capable of transforming into a cinema. The yacht's entertainment system is robust, featuring a WiFi network that supports video conferencing even at sea, alongside a comprehensive range of Apple systems.
The galley, located on the main deck just aft of the owner's and VIP quarters, is designed for efficiency and ease of use. It is well-appointed to support the needs of the crew and enhance the overall guest experience.
Accommodation
Param Jamuna IV offers accommodation for up to 12 guests in 6 suites. The main deck features two expansive master cabins, providing ample space and privacy. Complementing the master cabins, the lower deck houses four double guest cabins. These are nearly identical in design, featuring personalized touches such as varied color schemes in upholstery and diverse marble selections in the en suites.
In addition to guest accommodations, Param Jamuna IV has dedicated spaces for 11 crew members, including quarters, a mess, and a laundry area, ensuring efficient service and operation.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel MTU (12V 4000 M93L) 3,460hp engines, motor yacht Param Jamuna IV is capable of reaching a top speed of 23 knots, and comfortably cruises at 19 knots. With her 25,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 3,500 nautical miles at 10 knots. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.
