Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and a steel / grp superstructure she features a 41'4" beam and a 12'2" draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 1,585 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Exterior Design

The exterior design of the 73.5-meter motor yacht Siren, launched by Nobiskrug in 2008, reflects a focus on functionality and timeless aesthetics. The owners collaborated with yacht designers Frank E H Neubelt and Roland Krueger of Newcruise - Yacht Projects + Design to create an exterior that is both sleek and sporty.

Siren features a high, powerful bow section and a sheer line that dips down to the main deck level just forward of midships. This design ensures the yacht's seaworthiness and contributes to its strong character. The superstructure is compact, with only one enclosed deck above the main deck, which provides large open deck spaces.

The main deck is designed for both welcoming guests and outdoor activities. It includes a semicircular raised area aft for relaxation and entertainment. A circular bar positioned between twin doors connects the interior saloon with the exterior deck, allowing seamless service and interaction between the spaces.

The bridge deck continues the inside-outside philosophy with a sky lounge and an open deck offering sunbathing, lounging, and alfresco dining. The sun deck features a mast that divides the area into four distinct sections, including a shaded lounge, a bar, a spa pool with a waterfall backdrop, and a small dining alcove with a teriyaki grill.

The yacht also includes a Beach Club with a large stern bathing platform, a transom flap that opens to reveal a shaded relaxation area, and well-conceived waterside amenities. The tenders and personal watercraft are stored in garages on either side of the Beach Club, launched by gantry cranes.

Siren's helipad is a 'folding' design, concealed within the semicircular 'dance and concert deck.' This feature allows the deck to serve multiple purposes, including emergency helicopter landings and entertainment events.

Interior Design

Spearheaded by principal interior designer Katharina Raczek from Newcruise, the design adopts a 'reduced design' approach, characterized by modern, crisp, and angular lines with a muted palette of pale colors. The floors are crafted from oak, selected for its appealing grain and its ability to take on a dark stain, providing a necessary contrast with the white furniture, bleached maple walls, and white deckheads.

One of the notable features is Raczek's innovative use of light. Instead of traditional cornices, a narrow band of light divides the walls from the ceiling, creating the effect of a floating ceiling. This treatment is also used in the ceiling's double rectangle of raised panels, an aesthetic choice that carries throughout the interior. Color and warmth are introduced through carefully chosen cushions and artworks, allowing for easy modifications to the room's character without disrupting its fixed elements.

The main saloon offers a conversation area that transitions into a bookshelf-lined library and television area. Forward of this, the dining room can be closed off from the saloon and library with double sliding doors that feature internally illuminated horsehair panels. The dining area includes three large floor-to-ceiling bay windows on either side, providing a strong connection with the sea. The room houses two tables: a four-seater to starboard and a 10-seater to port, equipped with a central glass panel that can be raised and illuminated. This arrangement allows for flexible seating, accommodating up to 22 guests when needed.

The interior design extends to the yacht's main entrance lobby, connected to the deck through a fully glazed sliding door. The marble-floored lobby is bright, emphasizing its understated decoration. Lacquered and pearlized walls with regular grooves almost conceal the doors to a day head and shoe locker. The inboard side of the lobby features a stairway with a handrail and treads that appear to float on light, winding around the central lift shaft.

The bridge deck's sky lounge follows the same inside-outside philosophy as the main deck below. Wide glass doors unite this air-conditioned space with the open deck beyond. The enclosed area includes a bar, sofas, a custom-designed games table, and a television. Adjacent to the sky lounge, the cinema room offers day-bed seating, surround sound, digital projection, and an adjustable professional screen surround.

The Beach Club at the stern provides further integration of indoor and outdoor spaces. A large transom flap opens upwards to reveal a shaded relaxation area with a bar, sofa, day head, and a massage room. This area also includes fitness equipment such as a running machine, weights, and an exercise bar.

Accommodation

Siren offers accommodation for up to 12 guests. The forward section of the main deck houses the master suite, an expansive area entered through a private study. The suite spans the full beam of the yacht, providing a generous space bounded by silk-covered walls. The bedroom features a large bed with a modern pearl-embroidered bedspread facing double doors that lead to a wardrobe-lined dressing room. His-and-hers bathrooms, clad in pale crema marfil stone, open to port and starboard. The master suite is further enhanced by a unique feature in the study: a wall section that can hinge downwards to form a balcony over the sea, and a hidden double bed that folds out for a unique sleeping experience in the fresh air.

On the lower deck, there are four guest cabins: three doubles and one twin. The aft double cabins are equipped with additional sofa beds. Each cabin is designed with bleached maple walls, creating a striped effect, and fitted with limestone-clad en suites that include both a bath and shower. Additionally, each guest cabin is equipped with modern amenities such as televisions and iPod docks, complemented by custom light fittings and individually designed accessories.

The bridge deck features a fifth guest cabin. Although smaller and without a bath in its en suite, this cabin compensates with wide views from large windows and elevated positioning, providing a unique and comfortable experience for its occupants.

The captain's quarters are located behind the bridge, while the 17-member crew is provided with eight single and twin-bunked cabins next to a large mess on the lower deck. Additionally, the crew benefits from a separate television lounge with bed-sized seating, a large laundry, and storerooms on the 'tween deck below. They also have direct access to a dedicated deck area on the foredeck, offering twin semicircles of seating and tables, ensuring a comfortable and contented crew which contributes to the overall success of the yacht's operations.
