Andaman Islands prepare to welcome superyachts with 50 berth marina

The Indian Ocean calls for exotic superyacht voyages as the beautiful Andaman archipelago provides a new 50-berth marina.

Aiming for a December 2020 completion, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands have been granted building permission for the new marina which will once again bring oceangoing yachts to the area, following the COVID-19 pandemic.

Covering the expanse of almost 600 islands, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands offer a scenic retreat with white sandy beaches and inspirational traces of untouched history.

With only 37 of the islands inhabited, there is more than a good chance of finding an isolated beach for relaxing afternoons, or adrenaline pumped sessions with watertoys and tenders.

Currently, international sailors and visiting yachts and superyachts are required to stay at anchorage due to the absence of a dedicated marina.

Being constructed in Port Blair Harbor, the all-new marina is due to provide enhanced access to repair and maintenance facilities plus other local amenities to fulfil the needs of visiting yachts.

In addition to the new development, Asia Pacific Superyachts, who are based in the vicinity of the new marina, state that new standard operating procedures for foreign-flag yachts will be in place at the time of opening. Details of which are to be released at a later date.
