The 37.8m motor yacht Cocoon was delivered to her owners in 2023 by Dutch shipyard Moonen. She features exterior design by René van der Velden Yacht Design and interior styling by Andreas Martin-Löf Arkitekter.
Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 8m beam and a 2.1m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 337 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in late 2020. This was the fourth yacht built on the Martinique 112 design. Launched in December 2022 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in March 2023.
Exterior Design
Cocoon, the fourth yacht in Moonen's renowned 122 Martinique range, is celebrated for its fast displacement long-range capability. Crafted with a robust steel and aluminum build, Cocoon emphasizes wide-body and high-volume spaces, boasting ample railings and wide companionways. Notably, Cocoon is the first in the series to feature exterior customization by the owner, including a 1.5m (5ft) extension to the swim platform and a fully integrated hydraulic Z-lift platform. The extended sun deck offers an additional 65 sq/m (700 sq/ft) of space.
Cocoon's exterior is distinguished by striking anthracite paint, departing from the traditional white hull of the series so far. The high, rounded bow leads to a functional teak foredeck with prominent guardrails, complemented by open fairleads for visual interest. Portholes on the lower deck ensure abundant natural light within the interior. The stern features a deep bathing platform accessible from the main deck aft by twin staircases, equipped with integrated shell doors for easy watercraft access.
The sun deck offers shade for guest comfort, with the canopy of the radar mast supported by sleek anthracite columns and highlights in black. Stairway access to the lower deck is provided on the port quarter, with a launching crane offering operational functionality on the upper deck's starboard aft. A smart grill feature adds interest to the profile, positioned just aft of the nameplate on the upper deck level.
Interior Design
Cocoon's fully customized Scandinavian interiors, designed by Andreas Martin-Löf Arkitekter, mark the Swedish studio's debut in the motor yacht realm. The main salon, though private, offers a glimpse of its inviting atmosphere through a released photograph. Cream walls and ceiling create an airy backdrop, complemented by wooden flooring adorned with a textured pattern rug. Costela lounge chairs by Tacchini, a large curved textured oatmeal modular sofa, and retro furniture contribute to the relaxed vibe of the space.
Accommodation
Cocoon offers accommodation for up to 10 guests in 5 suites comprising an owners cabin, 2 VIP cabins and 2 double cabins. She is also capable of carrying up to 7 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (C-32) 1,925hp engines, motor yacht Cocoon is capable of reaching a top speed of 16 knots, and comfortably cruises at 14 knots. With her 35,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 4,000 nautical miles at an economic speed of 10 knots.
Amenities
The yacht features a tender garage with storage for a range of toys and accessories. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort. Crowning the yacht is a spacious sundeck with an inviting spread of sunpads.
