The 180'5" motor yacht Reliance was delivered to her owners in 2023 by Dutch shipyard Heesen. The yacht's exteriors have been penned by Omega Architects, while LUCA DINI Design & Architecture has designed her interiors.
Design & Construction
Designed around a fast displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 31'6" beam and a 10'5" draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 760 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in late 2019 with the keel laid under the project name 'Project Gemini'. This was the sixth yacht built on the 55m Steel design. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in July 2022 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in September 2023.
Exterior Design
Sporting a sleek and sporty exterior, the Reliance is a testament to Heesen's longstanding partnership with Omega Architects. The 55-meter superyacht exhibits a striking shark-grey hue that beautifully complements her muscular lines and predatory profile. The distinctive “shark tooth” segment on the superstructure forward further enhances the yacht's formidable presence on the waters.
Reliance's hull, constructed out of high-grade steel, and the aluminium superstructure, form part of Heesen’s popular 55 Steel series, which includes five other delivered yachts such as the 55-metre Vida and 55-metre Laurentia. This series is celebrated for its blend of strength, elegance, and performance.
Subtle customizations on the Reliance include an opening window in the full-beam owner's suite, providing stunning views of the surrounding seascape. The yacht's upper deck features an impressive sundeck that boasts a Jacuzzi, sun loungers, and a well-equipped bar with a teppanyaki grill. This sundeck not only offers a luxurious leisure space but also accentuates the yacht's sleek profile.
The rear of the Reliance features windows in the transom door, allowing for an influx of natural light into the beach club. The beach club is equipped with a large swim platform and a wellness center, further extending the yacht's living spaces towards the sea.
One of the standout features of the yacht's exterior is the expansive deck area, offering an abundance of space to relax, socialize, or simply take in the breathtaking views. The sundeck is complete with a chic outdoor lounge, a state-of-the-art BBQ station, and a generously sized Jacuzzi, perfect for unwinding under the stars.
The aft deck of Reliance is equally impressive, featuring an al fresco dining area for those unforgettable dinners under the open sky. This space effortlessly flows into the yacht's beach club, which has direct access to the sea, allowing guests to enjoy an immersive ocean experience.
Interior Design
The interior of Reliance is a testament to the harmonious blend of elegance and comfort, crafted meticulously by the renowned Italian designer Luca Dini. Marking his first collaboration with Heesen, Dini has successfully brought a fresh, refined ambiance onboard.
The main saloon is a perfect embodiment of this vision, with taupe and cream tones predominant throughout, creating an inviting and serene atmosphere. The large L-shaped sofa and contemporary cream armchairs in the saloon are complemented by a low-level coffee table, with an opulent overhead mirror on the ceiling adding a touch of glamour. The dining table, large enough to accommodate 12 guests, is an epitome of luxury, with warm-toned feature lighting casting a gentle glow over the space provides the perfect setting for hosting dinner parties.
One of the key customizations onboard Reliance is an opening window in the full-beam owner’s suite. The suite is a haven of tranquility, enveloped by Tay wood paneling with dark oak framing. The ensuite bathroom is a symphony of marble units, complete with a dressing room, central bath, two showers, twin toilets, and his-and-her sinks, offering a spa-like experience. A minimalist design characterizes Reliance’s staterooms, where neutral tones blend seamlessly with plush furnishings and soft white fabrics to enhance the sense of comfort onboard.
The full-beam sky lounge on the upper deck offers ample seating and a bar area, with floor-to-ceiling windows ushering one onto the upper aft deck.
Accommodation
Accommodation onboard Reliance is generous, with six expansive cabins designed to sleep 12 guests. The 82-square-metre owners' apartment on the main deck forward and the VIP on the bridge deck stand out with their opulence and attention to detail. The remaining guest cabins – two doubles and two twins – are located on the lower deck, each designed with a unique touch to ensure a comfortable and memorable stay.
She is also capable of carrying up to 13 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel MTU (8V 4000 M63) 8-cylinder 1,341hp engines, motor yacht Reliance is capable of reaching a top speed of 15 knots, and comfortably cruises at 13 knots. With her 26,417 gallon fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 4,500 nautical miles at 13 knots making her well capable of long range and transatlantic voyages. She has been fitted with stabilizers to increase on-board comfort when the yacht is at anchor, particularly in rough waters.
Amenities
Waterfront living can be enjoyed to the fullest, thanks to a large beach club and connecting swim platform with plenty of space for sitting back and admiring the sea views. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort. Crowning the yacht is a spacious sundeck with an inviting spread of sunpads and deck jacuzzi which provides excellent views.
