One of the largest superyacht deliveries of the year looks to be moving ever closer as Oceanco’s 117m (384ft) superyacht INFINITY, previously known as Project Y719, gets ready to undertake her sea trials.
The highly secretive project was launched in October, having previously been kept under wraps since moving into the Dutch yard’s outfitting shed in July 2019. YachtBuyer can now exclusively reveal the 4,980GT superyacht is preparing to leave her base at the yard’s Ablasserdam facility to undertake her sea trials ahead of her impending delivery to her Owner later this year.
Details are scarce around the five-deck motor yacht, but we do know her Espen Øino penned exterior will accommodate two helipads, one on the foredeck and one on the aft upper deck, with aerial footage from her launch in October also showing a large main deck pool and hot tubs on two other decks. Her interiors come from Sinot Yacht Architecture and Design and it is believed she will accommodate 24 guests across her 12 cabins.
According to YachtBuyer intelligence, INFINITY will be one of the ten largest superyachts delivered this year, a list that is headed up Lurssen’s 146m (479ft) ‘Project Opera’. She won’t however be the largest Oceanco delivery in 2022, that honor is set to fall to the 127m (417ft) sailing yacht, Project Y721, which has reportedly been commissioned by Amazon owner Jeff Bezos. In fact the Dutch yard looks set to deliver three of the largest yachts of the year with 109m (358ft) Oceanco Y720 also scheduled for delivery in the next 12 months.
Oceanco has a reputation for building customizable superyachts of a considerable size, having delivered 19 yachts of 80m (262ft) or longer since it was established in 1987. Currently, the largest Oceanco yacht on the water is 110.1m (361ft) KAOS.
