Dutch shipyard Heesen has signed its third contract of 2020, selling Project Triton to an “experienced yachtsman who enjoys yachting with his family”.
The recently launched superyacht was listed for sale by Thom Conboy of Heesen USA, who worked closely with David Johnson to close the deal.
She is the second 50m Steel model to be handed over, following the 2018 delivery of sistership OMAHA. In what’s proven to be a successful month for the yard, another Steel range hull, the 55m (180.5ft) Project Pollux, has also been sold.
The exterior of Project Triton was penned in-house in collaboration with British designer Clifford Denn. She has a full-displacement hull for efficient cruising, while the striking profile and smooth, curving lines were inspired by classic sports car aesthetics. The elegant interior was designed by UK studio Reymond Langton.
She accommodates up to ten guests in her five cabins. The Owner’s suite is on the main deck, with the other four all below deck. Also below deck are rooms for a crew of up to nine.
Project Triton has been designed to maximise volume while remaining below 500 GRT, resulting in lots of open and comfortable space, especially in the main salon and bridge deck. The interiors are coloured with soothing browns and calm whites to create a warm aura, ideal for relaxed socialising.
The tender is stored in the foredeck, freeing up the lower deck lazarette area and using it as a roomy beach club with a blue marble bar and wellness area.
Outdoor space has been “efficiently organised for maximum enjoyment and comfort”, with amenities including a jacuzzi on the 98 sq. m (1,055 sq. ft) sundeck and a serene main cockpit with another bar.
Described by Heesen as “a true bluewater motor yacht”, Project Triton has twin engines that give her a top speed of 15 knots. At her 12-knot cruising speed, she has a transatlantic range of 3,800 nautical miles.
Amenities include a jacuzzi on the 98 sq. m (1,055 sq. ft) sundeck and a serene main cockpit with a bar.
Mark Cavendish, Chief Commercial Officer at Heesen, comments: “We are thrilled to be able to sign this contract despite the challenges created by COVID-19 travel restrictions. Both teams worked ardently using innovative marketing and communications tools to bridge the gap generated by the pandemic.
“We are delighted to welcome the Owners of Triton to the Heesen family and fleet!”
The superyacht is on schedule for delivery in 2021. According to our YachtBuyer market intelligence, Heesen currently has 12 other hulls under construction, including the 67m (220ft) Project Sparta.
